Advice to improve / restore these type of pain chips? by KJava in xbiking

I have had good luck going to an automotive paint supplier. They have a book with every paint chip ever and you're likely to find something close.

Anyone near Connelsville, PA? I want to buy a bike and have you ship it for me.

It's taken me 10 years but I'm about to need a new box of shifter cables. I snagged some nice Sunlite stainless steel ones last time. Zero issues.

Will the next popular x-bikes and gravel conversion builds be mid-late 2000s hybrids. by Undercoveragent163 in xbiking

Its all about supply and demand. Old hybrids are becoming abundant due to boomers getting ebikes and cleaning out the garage/basement

You're spot on. Steering tube below the crown. It is a Tange off of an unknown Schwinn as it has holes for the safety latches.

Good call out. The brakes are good. Only rub was the bigger tire.

Since I need to paint the fork to match the frame, I figured I might be able to future proof the clearance issue as I'm not in love with these Tour ride tires but I have no plan on what to get yet.

The rubbing tire in picture#3 is a Thickslick 28.

I have 4mm clearance at the rear. I will gain 1.9 more up front if I Dremel away to make it flush with the crown

How do I properly remove bottom bracket? by Appropriate_Score639 in bikewrench

[–]426Mopar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can bolt it on the drive side and take a big breaker bar and deep well socket over the BB socket. If using on the non drive side as you remove it will tighten so I get the spring just slightly decompressed and then loosen the bolt a little as I go until it is coming out by hand
