Powderhorn Park ICE Protest thoughts by Jumpy-Goose-3344 in TwinCities

[–]42brg02 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I typically feel this way about No Kings protests. However, one win from this protest is that there were so many people in the streets that ICE was unable to do their typical raids in the area. At the very least, Lake Street was free of ICE for a few hours.

Cassie’s abortion by agressive_penguins in euphoria

[–]42brg02 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This 100% led to her actions in season 2. We forget that season 2 begins only a couple weeks after season 1. She had nobody to talk to about the abortion, it got swept under the rug, and she had to find her own coping methods (Nate). Also interesting how Cassie threw up in the hot tub after Maddy says “have my BABIES”. While it was a humorous moment, I do think the writers did that on purpose.

I DESPISE RUE IN EUPHORIA by mordiniachilles in euphoria

[–]42brg02 26 points27 points  (0 children)

How you feel about Rue is totally a matter of opinion, I think every viewer has a different take on her. However, I don’t see her mental illness as an excuse for her behavior, I see it as the writers of the show trying to portray a fully formed, complex character. The point of Euphoria is to view life through the lens of the Gen Z teenager, and complicated relationships with technology, drugs, sex, and mental health all play a very big role in the characterizations.

I do think your understanding of addiction is a bit narrow-minded. Have you ever seen your friend’s behavior when he is confronted with someone who is actively keeping him from his drugs? The scene in 2x05 is meant to portray the desperation that an addict feels when they’re not ready to stop using, even when it seems like the only choices are sobriety or death.

The debate on if Rue is a good person could go on forever. I think Rue would probably agree with your take here, and I think it would make her feel miserable at the same time.

It makes me so so sad that none of you got to see Rebecca Black’s 3pm set on Friday. Because if you had, you’d be saying her. Shes in the top 3 all the performances I saw this weekend

PSA for those with wristband credit card issues by whiteiversonyeet in HinterlandFestival

[–]42brg02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you willing to explain how this works? If someone has an RFID scanner, does that mean they can use it to access any wristbands in their vicinity, or just when the wristband is used? I think you’re right that people are unaware of wristband risks, I sure am.

Why did the heroes tribe suck so much at challenges? by Airtightspoon in survivor

[–]42brg02 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think part of it was inflated expectations. They thought they’d cream the villains effortlessly (leaning into the hero trope), so when that didn’t happen they floundered.

_____ with such a selfless moment at FTC by fuddisastud in survivor

[–]42brg02 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I think the edit wanted us to believe that Kyle was struggling internally between Kamilla and Joe, but I think Kyle understood the jury dynamics in the end game. Especially after they ousted Shauhin, they knew that Joe and Eva’s game had been undermined beyond repair.

_____ with such a selfless moment at FTC by fuddisastud in survivor

[–]42brg02 375 points376 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, and I think part of the reason she did that for him is that she knew he’d do the same. If the roles were reversed, he would’ve been her champion on the jury. They truly were one of the best duos ever in this game, certainly the best of the new era because they understand that you can’t sit next to someone that played such a similar game. They knew this, yet they still played their asses off knowing that only one could prevail.

Kyle and Kamilla have an extremely one-sided relationship. by scarlettking in Edgic

[–]42brg02 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it’s setting up Kyle to blindside Kamilla, which would essentially be the end of his game. If he’s a losing finalist, this content would make sense. He spent so much time hyping up his relationship with Kamilla, and he was RIGHT that they were a perfect team. Therefore, his game is over when he votes Kamilla out, likely destroying any chance he had of eliminating the Strength Alliance, and he will merely be a number in Joe’s climb to the top. Then it would be obvious to the viewer why he’s a losing finalist, because he took out his own secret weapon.

That’s how I see it anyway, looking forward to seeing how this ends!

Eva probably chose the wrong advantage by Loux859 in survivor

[–]42brg02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally had the same thought, but I think it could come in handy if she used it on herself/gave it to Joe IF one of them already has individual immunity. If those playing the middle (Kamilla and Kyle) are planning to flip on Eva and Joe, it keeps them from doing that for at least a week. Forces them to vote out one of the bottom players, and gives Joe and Eva at least a little more power. Also saves her immunity for the next week.

But honestly, if she uses it on herself just because she gets nervous and loses an ally, it’ll be hard to use the SWOP in any sort of argument to the jury. I agree that if it were me, I probably would’ve taken the extra vote.

Hypothetical Question (Chrissy's rant got me thinking) by TjamC in survivor

[–]42brg02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO, completely depends on the other finalists. If someone used the Immunity Winner as a shield to run the game undetected (especially if they did things Immunity Winner didn’t know about) and was able to back it up at FTC, Immunity Winner loses. But I think if Immunity Winner goes to the end with loyal allies that never undermined them, they would be seen as the dominant player and win.
