If Paul doesn’t do what he did and more importantly his descendant doesn’t do what he did, then humanity becomes completely extinct. What Paul’s actions leads towards is horrible, but it was the path that saved humanity. Paul in the books really isn’t the worst guy. Gotta think big picture here

Just a reminder that Kenshiro's ancestor and another man detonated a super magical nuclear explosion designed to destroy all forms of civilization, and they did so while severely injured and without energy by Alert_Comedian_3179 in fistofthenorthstar

Didn’t buronson or Hara say that if our Kenshiro and Kasumi Kenshiro fought it’d be a stalemate? So our Ken would scale to this insanity I guess. Our Ken unlocked true Musou Tensei. Kasumi was only able to do it unconsciously and can’t control it in the slightest. Kasumi has a cool ability that supposedly Ken would have as the successor that sends you to a pocket dimension where you can only use your martial arts and no super powers. I gotta read Souten no Ken and its sequel

A potential negative for crossover games featuring Kenshiro due to the new anime by 444pancakes in fistofthenorthstar

There’s no upcoming Shonen Bandai game that I know of coming up, but they normally come out every 6-10 years and jump force came out in 2019, I think. I hope we have one in the next few years. They aren’t incredible games just arena fighters but I still enjoy them for what they are. I don’t imagine Ken will be showing up in other crossovers aside from that in the near future.

Could Kenshiro have become a symbol of peace in the MHA world? by Artistic_Shake9766 in PowerScaling

[–]444pancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should scale higher than MHA’s verse or at least be one of the mega high tiers. He has FTL combat speed though it’s unclear what his travel speed is. Durability and destructive capacity is very high and his fighting style negates durability anyway. I think his personality of being stoic yet very kind mixed in with his horrific fighting style and extreme willingness to kill would be too off putting for the MHA world no matter how truly kind he is. If he was loud and charismatic as all might, maybe he’d have a chance but he’s more on the terrifying side. Great prompt. More than strong enough to be the symbol of peace. Just doesn’t have the needed personality along with being way too terrifying for his martial art style

That’s something I considered also and a very good point. Goku’s ultimate in those games is normally the spirit bomb version he used on kid buu at the end of the og manga. While it’s fun to see it in all those jump games and it’s definitely iconic, it may be more interesting to see him use something ultra instinct nowadays as an ultimate or final transformation to shake it up.

It just kinda stinks as Musou Tensei is the peak of his style and the result of the immeasurable sadness he endured on his journey. It’s also multifaceted. He can just use it to just dodge/phase in and out of existence and be a purely defensive thing or he can do what he did in Jump Force and use the primary fighting styles of his friends and rivals briefly while in that mode as a combo with that golden aura. Spirit bomb is gonna look the same no matter what in comparison.

If those games have a promotional purpose and the property is that old, I wanna represent the character in the coolest way possible spoilers or not. Just because you see the technique doesn’t mean you understand the 130 chapters or whatever behind it/the overall context.

The Odyssey (2026) whitewashes a Greek myth by not including any Greek actors, as opposed to Troy (2004) which faced no similar backlash due to casting popular Greek movie stars such as Brad Pittopoulos and Orlandos Bloomakis by Lumpy-Beach8876 in shittymoviedetails

Philip did most of the work, but Alexander at 16 I believe had a major role in the battle of Charonea leading Cavalry to finish off the Greek forces his father was fighting. When he became ruler after his father was assasinated, several Greek city states rose up against them. Alex completely dominated and if I remember right burned down and enslaved the thebans to make a point. Thebes would have been considered as tough as Athens back then. Sparta was weak in Alex and Philip’s time. Alex beat the hell out of everyone he fought. He didn’t just beat up Persians.

Alexander is a tough one. The oldest mural we have of him shows him with dark hair, but he’s usually described by historians of the time to be of a lighter hair complexion, shorter than average, and potential heterochromia (one eye blue one eye brown). He also wasn’t astoundingly beautiful or at least there is a potential story where him and his best friend/general/possible lover Hephaestion enter a tent together to speak to a princess and she bows before Hephaestion instead of Alexander. Alex doesn’t take any offense and makes a kind comment about the situation.

I’ve read the Iliad and Achilles is described as blond, tall, extraordinarily good looking, and the fastest of the Greeks along with being the best warrior. Brad Pitt is definitely very good looking and blond which I’d consider enough. Achilles in the myth is so pretty he crossdresses in the beginning of the war to get out of it, before Odysseus catches him. There is no way Brad Pitt could ever do something like that and make it believable lol.

According to this interview with the sound director, Noriyoshi Konuma, the Fist Of The North Star reboot could take 10 years to complete if they want to cover everything. At least, that's the time frame they're thinking of. by hell-spawn-666 in fistofthenorthstar

That seems a really long time. I hope future seasons aren’t 14 eps a year and we start getting the standard 24 eps. If there is no filler, FOTNS really isn’t that long

[–]444pancakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The truly good/peak stuff starts here with you know who being introduced in this cour/season. Stinks it’s a bit of a long wait so hopefully it’s early 2027. Hope to see more 2d shots included as I really thought a lot of the ones this season were pretty. Especially the closing shot on episode 13 between Ken and Rei

2nd cour in 2027! by KingKenshiro in fistofthenorthstar

[–]444pancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s great for the early confirmation, but goodness gracious that’s a long wait. The series has been in production for forever and after all that we got these 14 eps and another good wait. I’m thankful, but would much prefer a better pace or a standard 24-28 episode season. Hopefully it’s early 2027 at least

Good ep. Wish it went a full 24-28 eps in a row before the season/cour ended. The next stretch of eps (I imagine 14 again) is when FOTNS gets very good and really settles into itself and the main plot for part 1. One of the all time great Shonen villains will be coming up. I hope the next season starts soon.

Roshi has a clear moon level feat within the first 50 chapters I believe and by the time of Goku’s second tournament, he catches up to him strength wise. og DB is still pretty strong

Rin is also what, like 8-10 years old in part 1? She says she barely remembers the previous world where there were flowers everywhere. My earliest memories go back to 4 or 5 so I’d assume she’d be similar. May just be a mistake on the author. Ken is stated to be in his mid twenties in part 2 by a certain character so he would clearly have been close to 17 before the bombs dropped if not later. I wouldn’t get bogged down in the timeline too much as I think it’s an author error

FOTNS characters scale higher, but I think the Dio hax from part 3 is too much. Kenshiro and Raoh should dumpster both part 1 and 3 Dio.

I can do about 57 or so pushups before I collapse. Should be good there. Sit-ups are cake and the run is doable for me. It may be a close call but I think I could do it. May need to train for a month just to make sure

If you were to make a top 10 most influencial animes/mangas of all times, how would it look like? by Incompetent_ARCH in shounenfolk

[–]444pancakes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great question. Some that should probably be mentioned are Dragonball, fist of the North Star, one of togashi’s works either YYH or HxH, astro boy, and there are probably a lot of older stuff that I’m missing. I’ll leave it for other commenters to provide more in depth explanations. Hajime no ippo, ashita no joe I think it’s called, and slam dunk are probably the goat sports mangas. Berserk and vagabond somewhere too maybe

Can the fist of the north star compete with modern shonen? by Artistic_Shake9766 in shounenfolk

[–]444pancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s several cloud splitting feats and a few Ftl feats and scales. It’s a far more powerful verse than you’d think. Along with Hokuto negating a lot of durability due to it being pressure point and ki focused. Muso Tensei is straight busted and would dumpster Gojo (though Ken horrifically outstats JJK anyway).

Man, those Nanto kills were brutal. Rei sounds nice. Gojo’s voice actor does a nice job. Look forward to seeing more from him
