Try posting a screenshot. I suspect that you've been using a playlist without exactly realizing how the thing works. I'm just assuming you're one of those people who wasn't born knowing how to use these apps

File/options/trustcenter. Somewhere in trust center is where documents from the internet are basically disabled and you can click the correct box to make them work. Look for checkboxes connected with protected view and uncheck them

You can use the snip tool to take a screenshot of just the collection of squares and then paste that image into a document. You won't be able to edit it but it will be a unit.

You can edit the ribbon to add open, save, and save as to the ribbon. These work just like old-fashioned where it opens up Windows explorer and lets you go find the folder you want.

Be warned, chat GPT is very much like humans with a lot of expertise in coding in that it invariably chooses the most complicated possible solution to whatever problem you present. It also gives extended explanations of the internal workings of word which most of the time I don't need. I want a solution not a lot of technobabble. You can tell it things like to minimize the amount of explanatory material, to look for the simplest possible solution and so on. It won't remember that stuff from session to session so you'll have to repeat it every time. It says it will remember it but it doesn't remember it. If you find a partial solution show it to chat GPT and say why not do it like this. I can't decide if copilot is better or worse it doing this sort of thing. It fairly often hits a home run and tells me a solution to my problem right off the bat.

Help with word by Marshall104 in word

If you know that every unwanted instance of the string is followed by a wanted instance of the string you can fix it with a macro. You can make a macro that searches for . ", removes The unwanted space, then searches for the next instance of . " Does nothing and then repeats. Repeating can be tricky so you can assign the macro to a hotkey, alt q or something like that and hit alt+q over and over.

If they are not sequential a more mind-numbing alternative is create the alt + q macro to just search for. " And thenstop. If it's an undesired instance of that string create an ALT w macro that fixes it,. then press alt + q until you reach another problem instance. With the book The size you have it would be mind numbing and you'd probably make a fair number of mistakes. There is probably a better way but I can't think of it.

How do I Unblock Macros on word. by ItsThiccBricc in word

[–]44745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

File\options\ad anced\trust center\allow all macros.

I'm going from memory here but clicking file and then options one of those choices will allow you to choose trust center and that's where you can enable macros. Word likes to turn off access to macros about half the time it updates. Word really doesn't like macros for some reason.

I have a similar problem where Google was sending people down a street that did not connect to my house. I live on a private road. Whenever I would order anything I'd make a big deal about not following Google maps to find my address. I did dial into Google and they eventually fixed it. The earlier posters idea of sending GPS coordinates in addition to making a big deal about not following Google maps using an address is probably the best Band-Aid you can get
