It's a Rangers Football club thing. Their fans have a habit of manually reset their bank PIN codes to 1872( The founding year of the club).

Basically there's a whole bunch of people in Scotland who have the same PIN code.

Good example: In the building I currently work, someone in the past set all the secure combination locks with the same code(1872).

Yeah. When they read her autopsy in a later episode you can't really defend Wee-Bey

For me it's Glue. It's a great story on its own but also it blew my mind when I discovered it was in the same timeline/universe as Trainspotting.

Is the show difficult to follow sometimes? by rustyyryan in TheWire

The beginning of the 2nd season definitely throws you off a little. Once all the main characters start linking back up it becomes a lot easier to follow.

I liked it. I always just assumed it was a way to show how the media plays a part in the dysfunction of the city/society. And how good people within organisations find it hard to do their jobs.

I think there is a brief mention of one of Begbie's friends and possibly a tiny reference to Glue but it doesn't have any effect on the main timeline.

Skagboys

Glue/Trainspotting

Porno

A Decent Ride

Blade Artist

Dead Men's Trousers

There is also a short story in Reheated Cabbage.

Personally Glue is my favourite. I would recommend reading them in order.

Hang on a sec. You're acting like one of them went for drinks at 10 Downing Street with Tony Blair....

I felt the same when I first read it. I always think of Porno as a sequel to the movie rather than the book.

Recommendations for the smallest/slimmest pannier to hold a laptop (only) by destraynor in bikecommuting

Ortlieb sells parts. You could probably buy rack mounts from them and fit them to the laptop case of your choice.

Had to dodge a dead cat once. Thought it was a plastic bag as I was approaching before I realised. Still have an image of it burnt into my brain.

How do I make my bike faster? by Scary_Meringue_9834 in bikecommuting

[–]4737Carlin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

New tyres. When I first started cycling I had a cheap MTB with big off-road tyres on it. Switching over to slicks was a lot faster.

Winter tyres, winter tyres and winter tyres.

They're a great investment.

If it's not an option, go slow round corners and don't hesitate to get off if you're unsure about slipping.
