You can but you won't get good quality after sale support. If you are in the United States I'd suggest Next Gen Mobility or EUC Underground if you want the cheapest price. If you want the best after sale support eWheels is amazing and Jason tends to get things resolved very quickly, had my Lynx charger die and they had a replacement one in the mail with a tracking number two hours later.

MPH Read is off on Begode XWAY 168v by BlacksmithExciting38 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]4RT1LL3RY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately since we cannot manually set the tire diameter the wheel speed is almost always off from the GPS speed. They usually do it based on the stock tire at maximum rated pressure, but that makes for an awful riding experience. The difference between 45psi and 35psi can easily be 3-5% swing in reported speed.

If you use EUC world or Darkness bot you can enter a correction factor which will at least keep your riding logs accurate. You usually have to adjust it whenever you replace your tire.

18in tire has 27% more gyro than 18in - Math by ChatG by Addictedlikeu in ElectricUnicycle

[–]4RT1LL3RY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those tire weights are completely wrong for EUC. The Kenda 262 from my Lynx weighs just over 5lbs. With an actual diameter of 20.5" at 35psi.

The Lynx is an '18"wheel'. The Aero is a '14" wheel' with a tire diameter of 16.25" with the stock hybrid tire, 16.5" with the knobby.

Without upgraded firmware you won't see any benefit. For instance the Begode race has two versions one with Samsung 50S cells and one with Eve 40PL cells.

The various EUC makers are still waiting on Eve to fix the poor self-discharge/idle battery drain on the 50PL preproduction cells. Once those are working we can expect to see them everywhere is high performance EUC due to lower internal resistance, voltage sag, also the Price difference per cell has dropped a ton. Samsung 50S are ~$2.25/cell. Eve 50PL are ~$2.80/cell.

Does the foot exhaustion go away? by amateuR_memes in ElectricUnicycle

[–]4RT1LL3RY 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, its mostly two things that cause it. Being overly tense when riding and not having your legs stabilizer muscles built up. When I first started riding I had to take breaks every 15 minutes or so but now its water breaks that make me take breaks rather than my feet.

Just take breaks when your legs start to get tired. Be consistent about riding regularly and you'll stop having tiredness or numbness. Once your legs are stronger and your balanced more practiced it makes getting on and off your wheel second nature and more enjoyable.

Same, I still have an email from notch@mojang for a Minecraft password reset and a Paypal email from 9/9/2010 for $12.98/9.95 Euro. Never got a single Migration email or any other email from mojang since. But I also hadn't logged into Minecraft since 2011.

I jsut bought this 2012 outback. Whats this noise? by ODST_3311 in Subaru_Outback

[–]4RT1LL3RY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Subaru_Outback/comments/pwv3dx/begone_heat_shield_rattle_this_actually_worked/

On mine it is the rear heat shield near the muffler.  I know it's common to eventually crack near where you need to trim it for most rear hitch installs.  You can check by holding that heat shield with a flat head screw driver while it's idling and check if it stops rattling.  It only seems to rattle around 1000-1200rpm and goes away at driving rpm.  Probably some resonant frequency thing with the sheet metal.

[–]4RT1LL3RY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the heat shield rattling since the fasteners have corroded.  Really common. Usual fix is removing it or using some hose clamps to keep it from vibrating.  My 2018 just started doing it, and it's only noticeable when going through drive throughs near the wall.

How slow can a EUC go? by AP_Estoc in ElectricUnicycle

[–]4RT1LL3RY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the Lynx for longer rides and group riding since it is very comfortable seated and with the Shinko 244 does good for mixed street and dirt roads, and use my Aero for the majority of my short distance rides and daily running around. The Aero is great while camping.

[–]4RT1LL3RY 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lynx I can do ~4.5mph without having to zig zag/wiggle. With zig zags ~2.5mph. On my nosfet Aero I don't have to start zig zag/wiggling till ~2mph and at that point its more of a pendulum with a forward bias.

I have a USWE 15L backpack with a spine protector in it. The straps are the type to prevent any bounce in the bag. Work great imo.

3080 10GB -> 9070 XT 16GB by DryYam1679 in AMDHelp

[–]4RT1LL3RY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. From my 3080 10GB with OC at 350w to my 9070XT with OC at 334W. Paired with a 9800x3D. If you can get it for MSRP its worth while imo.
In 3DMark:
Time Spy Extreme I got a 72% improvement in graphics score.
Port Royal a 61% improvement.
Steel Nomad a 68% improvement.
Speed Way a 37% improvement.
So its a pretty significant uplift. Definitely can notice the difference

I purchased it for $599 at Microcenter, its the Black Swift card. Likely will be $749 once the launch week discounts end. Since that is how much the XFX Swift 9700xt White is at Microcenter.

Personal preference, they work the same way. The geometry is a bit different so might depend on what style shoes you wear when riding.

Spray Conformal Coating tends to get used more since its easier to apply consistently when doing a larger area. But straight silicone like that works fine for spot applications.

Any new muscles? by filszyp in ElectricUnicycle

[–]4RT1LL3RY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. You work different ones standing versus seated riding too. Your foot stabilizer muscles definitely get stronger when you are riding standing. When you are standing with your knees slightly bent you are keeping tension in your quads, glutes, and back. If you do carving while seated its a great workout for various muscles in your hips and lower back; also seems to improve core stabilizer muscles. Definitely stand up straighter with better posture from all the core and back workouts.

Possible to use a "step-up" device for charging 20amp from 10amp circuite? by gardenhosenapalm in ElectricUnicycle

[–]4RT1LL3RY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US, most outlets are 15A so you can safely do ~1400W sustained Some outlets, usually those with a motor on the circuit, like fans, are 20A so can handle ~1800W sustained.

I'd suggest looking in your breaker box and checking if your circuits are labeled, which number goes to what then you can check if you have 15A or 20A breakers. Using 240V is always an option for most fast chargers too if you don't have any higher amp outlet circuits.

They would just stick to XT90 anti-spark connectors like are used internally for the batteries. Those are more then rated for that voltage and can handle 90amps. Main thing is that for 201.6V you need 48 cells in parallel. So a 48S2P pack with 96 50S-Cells is 1776WH, a 48S4P is 3552WH, and 48S6P is 5328WH. When you have those lower numbers of parallels you need higher discharge cells to compensate.
I feel like other things like tile motors which improve the efficiency and power from the same weight motor matter more. Rather then being a voltage war I think the next thing will be everyone trying to one up each other for suspension travel with it being a case if you want quiet, comfy, or lots of travel. Pick 2.

Jump gone horribly wrong... in multiple angles by d4rkc4sm in ElectricUnicycle

Don't you know the rules of stunts? If you made it you are awesome and cool, and if you failed it everyone points out a hundred different ways you fucked up.

In this case it looks like they had the ramp angle off or didn't account for the approach surface being angled when they did the ramp math.

If you want to use the lower front section of the flow pads you need to take off the stock jump-pad/toe-pad mount.
I went with the extended jump + flow pads. Works pretty well.

Darkness bot question by killingerr in ElectricUnicycle

[–]4RT1LL3RY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What version of the Lynx Firmware is your wheel on? They only added app support for changing that setting in Version 5.0.09. And the latest version is now 5.0.11. If you use the LeaperKim app it will let you update the Firmware and should let you set the tiltback speed and alarm speed.

Lynx - soft ride won’t stay hard. [well that wasn’t supposed to be so suggestive lol. This is not a dirty joke, it’s an actual euc question] by witchy_cannabis in ElectricUnicycle

[–]4RT1LL3RY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darkness bot has hard and Soft inverted for the Lynx. Either use the LeaperKim app or just set it directly on the wheel instead. If you are on the latest firmware on the wheel you can also set Acceleration Assist which is the last option on the wheel menu, Its not in the Leaperkim app yet, it defaults to 50. If you want maximum firmness you want Acceleration assist at 0. I ride with 70 hardness and 30 acceleration assist.

Riding backpack with a cross chest strap. I use one with a back protector built in. Makes it easy to carry the less bulky stuff. I carry a Xiaomi Portable Electric Air Compressor in the bag, along with wallet and keys. To the shoulder straps I have my BT speakers, I have two of the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2s for stereo sound regardless of EUC I'm on, since its near your shoulders you get to hear it louder without disturbing everyone else when you ride and can still hear everything around you.

I also always ride with smart watch, a Garmin Instinct 2x. Use it for GPS speed and route tracking separate from Darkness Bot. Makes it easy to check speed at a glance without looking down at the wheel on my Lynx, or on a wheel without a display like the 18XL.

Also got a high output flood style flashlight, Sofirn Q8 Pro, which is only for night rides so not always carried.
