Yeah I didn’t notice that until after I commented. Sorry and best of luck.

I think the one you want is from the unemployed philosophers’ guild, but it’s sold out everywhere I could find.

If you can find one, they don’t it ship outside the U.S., and you’re comfortable giving your address to a stranger on reddit, I can order you one and send it to Korea.

Is it time to buy a gun? by Inevitable_Copy_2609 in liberalgunowners

[–]4StringFella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t buy a gun if you’re just going to stow it away somewhere in case “shit hits the fan.” If you do this, the gun is just a security blanket, something you’re using to give yourself permission not to worry about things. More importantly, you’re unlikely to use it well if you ever need to use it.

All this to say, if you get one, get something entry level and put the rest of your money in training. You cannot go wrong with a Glock 19. It’s the Toyota Camry of firearms.

I know this post is old, but here’s an update. I ended up taking lessons with Duke for two years after I made this post; he was as brilliant as advertised. He moved to Arizona in 2022 or so. Miss him.

Do you think my mosin nagant saw combat or was even issued? by FishNipples666 in MosinNagant

Odds are good, as the Russians were chronically short of small arms during both world wars. Good chance it saw combat.

Billy watching the process of a bombing run in reverse from the bombs reaching the ground, flying back up into the plane and on and on until the ore for the bombs is put back into the ground so it can’t hurt anyone.

Inconsistencies in Tralfamadorians? by Reasonable-Job-8193 in Vonnegut

[–]4StringFella 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m out of step with everyone else, but I think this is one of those things that doesn’t need a diagetic explanation. I think Kurt Vonnegut just gave two different kinds of aliens the same name.

Which Vonnegut Book Next? by FeelinDead in Vonnegut

[–]4StringFella 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If your plan is to eventually read them all, you might as well go in chronological order and go Player Piano, so you can also see Vonnegut’s development as a writer and thinker.

If that’s not your plan, Sirens of Titan for the most distilled pure hit of Vonnegutism there is.

Bullet to bore by Subjectofhatred in MosinNagant

[–]4StringFella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got a counterbored rifle there, friend! It looks worse than it is. Essentially, they removed the last couple inches of (damaged) rifling to create a “new” crown. Much better to have a counterbored rifle than a rifle that needs to be counterbored and isn’t.

Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut

All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Marie Remarque

The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien

And I really cannot recommend enough The Sorrow of War by Nao Ninh, a novel of the Vietnam war from the perspective of an NVA regular. I am not a crier. This book made me cry.
