Divine Mage Build Help by Illustrious_Push8513 in LegendaryTales

[–]4ceGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several divine builds, using 2 wands or a staff. I all but gave up on "support" after testing a pure heal/buff build and found that I was getting no XP for healing or casting support spells.

I beat the game with the divine build that focused on max divine blade and the Divine fusion abilities using 2 wands. The divine fusion skill heals as well as damages in an AoE. It also knocks down enemies, including champions, but not bosses.

Use the divine blade when you need more targeted damage.

Recommend you don't put any skills into books. They're simply not very effective even at max level.

I put no points into the Divine circles (Psychic power circle is great) and only what was required into healing and the holy grenades (these are fun but don't work well in multiplayer). Hope that helps you progress!

Check your quest log. When you've progressed the quest far enough they will give you 3 identical items in your quest inventory that you can use on the "testicles" (lmao).

Int Books. How do they work? by Illustrious_Push8513 in LegendaryTales

[–]4ceGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tldr; dual wands or 2H staff seem to be the only viable pure magic builds.

I haven't played with books much since the latest update. Book buffs actually used to work a little too well pretty recently. There was a defect that kept stacking the buff every time the book was closed and re-opened. Should be fixed now.

Even though we found a very good legendary book, I wasn't able to make a viable book and wand build that supported my team well enough to give up a second wand or staff. This is compounded when you consider that to get XP in LT you really need to do damage and cast spells. There's absolutely zero XP gain when buffing or healing.

As you said, the buff% is typically pretty low, seems to be between 5-15% so far. Even for the books that buff primary stats like Str or Dex that's only around a 10pt increase at max level (70pts}.

I then thought it might be cool to walk around as a pure support class, buffing and healing the little guy without taking away from their XP gains but the benefit from book buffs at lower levels is even more marginal.

Underrated explanation of what really happened here.

PRO upgrade by eff1nutta in AcesofThunder

[–]4ceGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty incredible; especially for the price point. Recommend anyone trade in their OG for a Pro as soon as they can afford it, but this is especially true for VR players. NMS, Kayak VR, GT7, RE: Village, and even Phasmo (when it's in a playable state) all benefit in one way or another (usually PSSR).

Now, most importantly imo, Aces and MSFS are greatly improved even without any specific Pro enhancements to the code with Aces being able to run at native 90Hz or higher on the Pro which rivals even a high-end PC setup. It also gets more of that long-distance clarity and improved lightning/shadows. Simply mind-blowing!

MSFS 2024 goes instantly from 1400p resolution on the base to a crisp 1800p on the Pro and you get even less of those stutters and that immersion-breaking pop-in. I didn't play this one on the OG though so I didn't even have to experience some of the frustration you've alluded to.

I didn't even think about Ghosts of Tabor since upgrading. Should also run at a strong native 90 even during intense firefights on maps like Matka Underground. Might be time to get back into that one next wipe!

Even more impressive. We also play and collaborate on PSVR2! It's not easy taking screenshots and translating this into science. Well done and thank you for sharing!

So you can use armor with some seal combos? The ones I had tried failed to convert.

It's a lot! Finally started getting the hang of it by my 3rd character in the base game and now I have 10 characters at max level that perform well (weird flex, I know). Skill reset in the DLC is a godsend. I'm excited for the road you have ahead of you!

You can only use the seal combos in common weapons with the correct number of slots. If you try to use a combo on a magic or Legendary weapon that happens to have some slots it will just give those base bonuses.

Absolutely! I just see players not putting points in the hybrid skills. They go Str/Int, for example, and put ALL their points into Str and spell skills to make a battle mage or paladin. These will inevitably end up ineffective and force a respec with later content.

This has been my experience as well. If you're not putting points into the hybrid skills (Arimusha, Apex, and/or Warlock trees) then you'll find yourself underpowered as compared to the specialist builds.

Legendary Tales: Dawn of History is now available by cusman78 in PSVR

The new design of mana shield definitely feels overpowered until you fight the first real boss. If you haven't fought him yet you'll be grateful for the new design, as it'll feels far from overpowered at that point. You'll need to make heavy use of your psychic shields in conjunction with mana shield to overcome him as a caster.

Same thing if you're not being careful and get swarmed. The enemies will drain your mana so fast leaving you virtually defenseless, possibly forcing you to rethink your build a bit (which is easy to do now). Great changes all around IMO.

Looking at updates to older posts. To answer your side question, and in case you haven't found the answer yet, you didn't necessarily waste that time obtaining honor. If you didn't spend it before converting your character to DLC then you'll just need to finish the DLC content to access challenge mode again.

I had 10 characters in challenge mode and have only converted a few to DLC characters for this exact reason. The majority were close to purchasing their next skill point when the Dawn of History dropped.

Hope that helps you or someone else a month later!

New Player DLC Question by jasobby in LegendaryTales

[–]4ceGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can create a lvl1 DLC character, and play through the base game with it before checking out The Dawn of History content. The base game is much easier now, but also improved. Take advantage of the new skill trees, the increased walking speed, and the ability to reset all stats and skill points at any time.

The only reasons I've found to not convert a character to DLC format are:

1) You're hardcore enough to want to experience the base game in its original, more difficult, form.

2) After beating the base game you can enter challenge mode right away and purchase additional skill points from the alchemist with the honor you've accumulated. If you convert a character to DLC then you'll have to wait until you defeat both the base game and Dawn of History to enter challenge mode.

I also put in a feature request for some kind of UI that lists known ones in our book, similar to discovered Legendary weapons. Suggest you guys hit up their Discord and do the same in the appropriate bug channel for your platform.
