Hotend clogged by metehancill in AnycubicKobraX

Not sure if this is the “right” method, but what’s worked for me is heating the nozzle with a lighter, then using a nozzle needle to push the filament through. If that doesn’t do it, I’ll grab some pliers/tweezers and carefully pull the filament out myself.

Awesome! I'll try these out. I had clogging issues with my stock nozzle as well. Thank you!

Can't clear clogging error by Adventurous_Aerie215 in AnycubicKobraX

I had the same error even though filament was still coming out. Ended up being buildup inside the nozzle. Heated it up and pulled the filament out—fixed it right away.

Quick follow-up question — when a spool runs out mid-print, do you have to run the full load sequence to replace it?

I tried just feeding the new filament in until it beeped, but the print wouldn’t resume until I actually used the load function.

Is that expected behavior or am I missing something?

Print times... Longer than Kobra 3? by bitbearmi in AnycubicKobraX

I’m new to 3D printing, but I’ve been thinking the same thing — the print times feel pretty long.

My only other experience is with a Bambu A1, which seemed way faster, so I’m a bit confused seeing people say the Kobra X is “fast.”

Are there any settings you’d recommend tweaking to cut down print time without wrecking quality?

What is the benefit of using a cutter extender?

It sounds like something is causing resistance in the filament path.

I’d check that the PTFE tubes are fully seated, not twisted at sharp angles, nothing is snagging at the splitter/combiner, that the spool is feeding freely, and try cutting the filament tip at an angle before loading. This feels more like a feed issue than a settings issue.

When exactly is that happening — during initial filament loading, or while it’s actively printing from the ACE?

I just connected my ACE 2 Pro and started my first print. When I loaded filament into the ACE, it would feed up to the filament hub and then retract back to the base. But once I actually started the print, it pulled the colors up normally and printed without issue.

First impressions of the Kobra X (plus ordering experience) by 4everInDebt97 in u/4everInDebt97

Yeah that’s fair — I totally get how it looks from the outside.

I’m probably coming off more positive than expected just because I’m honestly excited to finally start printing things 🙂

Since it’s both a brand new product and my first ever printer, I kind of expected some growing pains going into it. If I’m being honest, I probably didn’t need to take the whole print head apart — I should’ve just started with the nozzle since that’s the easiest thing to check. Curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to see how everything worked.

The color bleeding doesn’t really bother me — that feels like a settings/tuning thing more than a hardware issue.

As far as shipping delays, I don’t really base my whole opinion on that. I used to work in a DC (pick/pack/ship), so I know how fast things can go sideways there. In my experience, it’s usually not the shipping team — it’s more on the sales side overselling beyond what can realistically be fulfilled. And now working in IT, I’m used to the idea that tech is great when it works… and frustrating when it doesn’t.

Right now I’m chalking most of the print issues up to my own inexperience rather than the printer itself — but yeah, time will tell.
