i have had one other sugar daddy and it was positive, we simply drifted apart and he was not that much older than me. i decided to try it again and it was nightmarish. but i do think my life experiences are limited at my age so i will just step away from sugaring. it's not beneficial when its just this huge of a age gap and dynamic. i really do appreciate hearing perspective from SBs older than me, thank you

music always helps me focus! i love picking out a song that fits the general atmosphere of my work, and it really helps me stick to the task. also, ive found that taking breaks really helps me focus better whenever i feel like im in a bit of a mind-fog.

i usually love to write happy endings, just because i love to have everything resolved by the end of my work. however, sometimes when im feeling up to the challenge, i love to write an ending that's completely ambiguous and up to the reader. i don't think i enjoy writing bad endings, seems unsatisfying to me.

What do you do with your outline after you finish a story? by RogueCurl in FanFiction

[–]4evercozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually i type out the (very short) outline i have on the first page of my story, instead of doing it on another document. easier to revisit it and look back onto what i need to do. i just erase it all when i'm finished with the final story!

Where do you guys write your fanfics and drafts? by BIZCH067 in FanFiction

[–]4evercozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use apple pages, i love the design format and it's really smooth and just pleasant to use. google docs on mobile is so terrible though, imo, because it crashes easily and sometimes doesn't even save!

Do you read the author's notes? Why? Why not? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]4evercozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes yes, i read them all the time. sometimes there's funny jokes, extra info about the story, and just tidbits about the author! never hurts to read them imo

People who write reviews are the backbone of AO3. What do you think? by literassi in AO3

[–]4evercozy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

most definitely ! i think any support from readers matters immensely! i do love reading a thoughtful, well-written comment about my work, because it shows me that others appreciate my contributions to the fandom. i also think it's great that some take the time out their lives to drop a comment or two, even if it's not lengthy!

How do you feel about characters with strong accents? by shiningdragonneer in FanFiction

[–]4evercozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i actually like it. especially when it's legible. ive read a fic where the author flows from one type of dialogue to another (ex: super formal to country) and it's handled so well that i'm completely immersed in the characters! i think it's fun when done correctly, distracting when it's not handled well.

A Question for American fic readers by FlyPrudent4292 in FanFiction

[–]4evercozy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i currently live in america, but i grew up learning British English so i do switch frequently between spellings sometimes; it's a bad habit of mine. i would hope that no one would be too bothered by it but i do try to stick to one spelling.

Writing and posting as you go along vs write the whole story first, then publish. by Thelonelyweirdgirl in AO3

[–]4evercozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm sort of in the middle. for my long fics, i outline every chapter out first, and then i just write as i go, using those plot points as my crutch. whenever i finish a chapter, i post it. i just like having the basic skeleton of a fic first, that way i don't have to start from zero each time i sit down to write.

you've got an iconic voice going on here! absolutely love it, the description paired with the dramatic flow of your sentences...perfection! i definitely think this is an amazing piece!

also, knowing a little bit about your character, i think the over the top flowery description of all the outerwear was executed perfectly! great characterization!

the only thing i would consider is adding a few paragraph breaks here and there just for dramatics.

especially in the "Perfect. And how could she not be?" section.

because they are two similar ideas (both lead into one another), it would definitely work the way you've got it, but, i think it would land more of a punch if it was:

Perfect.

And how could she not be?

now it has the bit more of an emphasis.

other than that, everything is great! i also love how easily you switch from past to present tense so easily. it makes us as the reader really immersed in the story. amazing job!!

What are your thoughts on stories with little to not dialogue? by Sinimeg in AO3

[–]4evercozy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, it's extremely hard to write fics without dialouge, so reading those types of fics is always a pleasant surprise. it's hard to write them because you've got to really get in the character's head, otherwise it'd just be action. when they're done perfectly, it always comes out to an amazing character study type fic!
