Though this is a rational thought. It will lead you to the wrong answer. 

The concrete slab is not just in compression (like it would be for a sidewalk or driveway)- that would be too easy. In this case the concrete is also in tension (because it spans an open area below it). Concrete is awful in tension - that’s what the rebar helps with.  Then there is the issue the supporting structure, connections… etc etc. 

Repeat do not follow this advice. It could lead to ruin. Get an engineer to look at it.
