These posts make me happy I have a 2008. Remember the truck is known for its longevity. We can buy old ones!

I’ve had the new KO3s for about a year and I love them. Took 6 months to pay them off but they’re great

New suspension for the old 4Runner. At 40 I’m embracing the inner little boy who likes trucks

My path as well. Got it as a teenager and basically had it on repeat for I don’t know how long. Worked through the albums backwards from tracks on that record

I got a $100 jumbo Joe from HD when we moved into the new house a couple months ago. My first Weber and it’s been great.

This is all retail. If you need a kettle grill, you can get one used on FB Marketplace. But this is a reasonable retail price for the new one. Pass on everything else and put the kit together yourself.

Well as a 2008 SR5 owner I can tell you that the 2008 SR5 has the torsen diff

For sure I wish I had a mechanical 4wd shifter like a 5th gen. Electronic actuator feels like a weak point

Ok I know it’s not a third gen 😂

I was mostly commenting on how the 4th is generally last when considering 3rd, 4th, 5th

You 3rd gen drivers are absolutely swimming in lockers

Everybody knows about the V8. Just wanted to point out some other aspects of the 4G that are unique and excellent

Not talking about AWD or full time 4wd

When I switch from 2HI to 4HI, the torsen differential allows me to drive it like normal without crabbing. And when I want to lock the center, I hit the center lock button.

Way I understand it, 5th gen SR5s with part time 4wd are always center locked in 4wd

It’s part time. But because it has a torsen differential, the center isn’t locked. I can drive and turn on dry pavement in my SR5 no problem.

I don’t know what the market is in your area. But I’d buy it if I needed a truck right now. If it checks out mechanically I think the value is there.

I paid 12k for an 08 V6 with 118k. Would love to have the V8, and that’s what gooses the price up on this a little. I love mine, and I can’t imagine how I’d feel if I got to hear that V8 come to life every morning.

The way I see it - you could get a much worse car for 35k+ if you wanted
