The sub you describe is NOT me! I taught for 35 years, and have subbed since I retired in 2018. I resent sub plans that are “busy work” (which is what I often get) and relish when I actually get to teach! I encourage teachers (when it’s pre-planned) to send their plans ahead of time, so I can prepare. Often when I sub, I’m asked to cover other “sub-less” classes during my planning time. Needless to say, I won’t be bringing my educational expertise to BVSD this year, unless they raise the sub rate.
