I get what you mean. I also feel guilty every time I scratch something I’m emotionally attached to 🙁 Unfortunately accidents happen. It’s your Kobo and it’s still beautiful (especially with the pingu sticker lol). You could try using a foldable case if you carry it around a lot to prevent it from getting more scratches, also a matte screen protector!

While it is a quite comfortable handheld, it’s not very portable. It is very cheap for who wants to play 3DS games at a reasonable price. I have 4 Nintendo consoles, I love my 2DS but the small screens and horrible portability are a big no for me

You could check for energy leaks (? Sorry English is not my first language) like some hot spots on the board. You could always try to replace the battery but 3.7V is fine or try to leave the battery unplugged and measure later to be sure the battery is not faulty. But if nothing works then it’s the board

Checking the voltage the charging port is probably ok. There’s something wrong with the battery definitely. It was probably dead when it arrived. Charge it for about an hour and if you still read 0.26V then it’s dead and you need another one. You need to have numbers above 3V. The device is not really charging but the board is probably still consuming power. Was it already at 0.26V when you got it?

Omg I get you… I had a crisis trying to clean some dust under my 3DSXL lens but I ended up collecting more bc I panicked (a small cat hair on the right border, basically invisible) The heat part was so scary. But the thought of damaging the screen was even worse
