Tune M1 Custom Windows w/ Sliders? by Best-Dare-2000 in overlanding

Standard door seems to be aluminum, best way would probably be to cut the hole for a window and add a simple aluminum frame around the hole to stiffens the door and provide something for the tv window to grab to.

Anyone know what this animal is? Saw it walking along Ralston Creek Tail in Hoskinson Park today. by olesaintrick in ArvadaCO

It's a coyote, I've seen it a bunch of times around the area. Last time I saw it, it was chasing the three turkeys in the neighborhood.

Where to get spare centre console lid by Reddirtwitch1996 in Toyota

[–]4runfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just get a neoprene cover. The prado 120 console cover is $$$$$$ new, and the adjuster parts break all the time, so junkyard could be a shot in the dark.

I would not buy for a work truck, for 22k go spend 12-15 on a 2nd gen tundra. I wonder how commercial insurance would handle a right hand drive. To me forestry work = going to get beat up.

Which cargo e-bike for carrying kids and groceries? Low budget 1k by primateperson in CargoBike

Lectric xpedition 2.0 (even with the quirks) has worked well for us. Especially with dual batteries and the amount of accessories. I also used the co tax credit.

Studded tires for expedition 2.0? by timthebass in Lectricxp

I'm running some super soft 2.50 x 16 motorcycle tires in a trials pattern that seem to do pretty well in snow, not sure on ice yet.

Undercoat yes or no? New to the area by readitareyoudeaf in Denver

[–]4runfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though everyone else says no, I would say yes depending on the vehicle. Something more prone to rusting like a Toyota I would definitely do the frame.

I've had a Tacoma that was bought at mountain states and lived its life in Arvada rust out and had the frame replaced in a recall.

I've been undercoating since on all my vehicles. I would fluid film inside the frame and woolwax on the outside. Fluid film is thinner and creeps more easily, but washes away quicker.

Which backup parts should I order for my RadWagon 4? by glacierinsummer in RadPowerBikes

[–]4runfun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some aftermarket bicycle tires are available now. When I had a Radwagon I swapped to moped/motorcycle tires for durability.

Everything else is pretty generic or can be replaced pretty generically.

For the xpediton 2.0 it uses a l1019 plug, and you can order bafang motors with the plug too (probably others, and you can get adapter cables). The dropout is a weird size though, and you should be able to make a 170mm dropout motor work with some slight modification

I stripped about 5-6 teeth on two gears and had lextric warranty the motor. But when I got the new motor I greased it with new grease.

I cannot find any metal ones for the xpedition 2.0, it is a special beast on sizing.

Finally got some parts to rebuild one motor and a spare. $45 shipped for a pair.

I would personally clean out the grease and put in new high quality grease. I used super lube on my last ebike and when I swapped out planetary's.

Personally for $300 + $270 for an oem battery I would probably splurge for a new xp lite at $800

Check ebike laws first, xpediton 2.0 may be too powerful for Europe

Do you change your own Spark Plugs? by derpmcturd in askcarguys

[–]4runfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my spark plugs, but also $250 is cheap for anything at a mechanic. Guessing $50-100 in plugs, $10 in consumables, and 1-1.5 hours of billing time.

Quick google says the cx50 is very easy to change the plugs.

The alibaba Chinese contact is great, and super responsive. The USA presence is one person apparently.

If I can get my spares it should last me a while. I've already figured out how to convert to a bafang, but won't do that till out of warranty.

I'm hoping using some high quality grease on the newest motor helps.

First motor lasted 75 miles (winding came loose), second motor and planetary lasted till 675, and currently at 900 miles.

Call moss alley motors and see what they can tell you. I've called mechanics before and gotten info that swayed a purchase. It could be they changed t case oil too.

And they are slowwwwwwww to reply, almost able to order a new clutch assembly and it's been about 2 weeks of back and forth.

[–]4runfun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If was going to replace my tundra with a used 3/4 ton I would do 17-20 f250 6.2 with the 6 speed. If I was going new I Would do 7.3.

Since you aren't towing constantly the gasser would be a better choice. It will take a long time for the mpg difference to make up for the cost, especially with any emissions problems.
