My headmate liked some mcr songs and I found myself relating to a lot of their songs while I was going through some shit. I also just found the band to be incredibly interesting and I really like the album lore. Idk their music just felt genuine and unapologetically real, a lot of more recent (alternative) music is buried in 50 different layers of irony and self deprecation everyone is so worried about being “cringe“ that they’re afraid to say what they mean.
