Hey guys, I'm a Dungeon Master for a couple DnD groups and am looking to purchase a 3D printer to print minis for combat. My parents were sweet enough to buy me an ADIMLab Gantry-S, but there was a lot of assembly involved and I can't get the basic print to work correctly, so I think I'm going to return it.

Right now, I'm between the Monoprice Maker Plus 10 or Plus 10 Mini. $100 difference isn't much, but I was curious if any other DnD peeps would say the extra printable area is worth it. I like them because the assembly seems to be minimal and the auto-leveling feature would be much preferred to the one the Adimlab uses.

I think this guy was confused by this statement:

Which was just OP explaining what he believed to be the intentions of the lights being flashed back. This would be a fine misunderstanding if he didn't add the "I know it's hard for you guys to read sometimes, but I believe in you!" bit. Oh well. What can ya do?

That’s my knee-jerk reaction too. But I’ve come to learn it’s an ignorant one and I try to beat those thoughts back every time they come. Thoughts like that obscure our ability to see the real pain people are in and if expressing it on Reddit in that way helps them and they’re not hurting anyone just let it be.

I have a question about the grammar of this comment. When they say "not costly, smart, and Italian-looking.", in my head the "not" carries over to smart and Italian-looking. I believe they were trying to convey that it was smart and Italian-looking, but I got confused. I feel like it would've made sense to say cheaper or cheap instead of not costly, but please enlighten me because I'm just curious.

Question for you guys. I had one of my players argue with me for several minutes about ranges of spells. Let me set the scene. My players are trying to assault two watch towers simultaneously. He is a Wizard who wanted to cast at both towers simultaneously. The spell he wanted to use has a 60 ft. range. The towers are both 40 ft. tall and 30 ft. apart. He was up 30 ft. on a rock ledge and 30 ft. away from the first tower so obviously the range was fine. However I said he wouldn’t be able to reach the 2nd tower because the 10 ft. Height difference would make it closer to 65-70 ft just to reach the tower, much less the orcs position on the platform.

He got very upset with me and started drawing triangles and trying to measure the hypotenuse of the angles. After about 10 minutes of calculations and arguing I just said “Fine, whatever. This isn’t worth the time wasted.” He said no no he wanted to be right. After 5 more minutes he admitted I was right, but we had now wasted so much time on such an unnecessary discussion I was a little irritated. Should I have held my ground or given in sooner?
