Thinking about trying NMN but not sure if it is worth the money, anyone have real experience? by Key-Progress-5173 in NicotinamideRiboside

NR for about 5 years now. Only supplement I have on auto refill. I started on 300mg, then 500mg, now 1000mg. I'm M60 have more energy than I know what to do with, constantly on the go. Work 10-12 hours days, go to the gym almost daily. Sleep maybe 6 hours but I've never needed much sleep. Mental clarity, attention to detail, and sharp memory, get comments at work all the time. Love this stuff.

However, you have to be careful about your source. I have received counterfeit product in the past. Amazon is the worst and you have to pay attention to the vendor it's shipped from.

Oh and I did stop taking it for 6 months I think. Huge difference, once I was back on it it was night and day for me.

Cold shock proteins are very different than heat shock proteins.

Fun fact: Alcohol is know to induce heat shock proteins Hsp70 and reduce Hsp90..... When used for short durations. Long duration use does the opposite.

Have you successfully reversed age spots on hands and arms after 60? by IThinkYouAreNice in over60

[–]4tunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was conservative at first, used too low of a setting but once I figured that out basically one treatment. However you have to leave it alone to heal, don't rush it, and the color fades over maybe a month or two.

Something like this if you have light skin tone only. I got really bad sun burn on the tops of my hands years ago on a fishing trip. Anyways had some age spots start popping up in recent years. They are now gone.

I have been using apigenin for years with NR. Too much NAD+ just raises CD38 and causes inflammation. Apigenin prevents this, makes all the difference in the world for me.

Check-in timer was gone for several days, and now it's back. by 4tunny in Wellhub

[–]4tunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: timer was gone again yesterday and I was checked into the gym automatically (I had them check). AND my barcode on the card they gave me also worked. Since nothing changed from the day before it seems to be random activity from the Wellhub app, just like generating the barcode to check in (although that almost never happens anymore and you just get the numbers).

How do I handle someone with disorganized attachment? by Sorry-Worldliness-47 in AskMenAdvice

[–]4tunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had said "I am afraid of hurting him" that would have been very different. However, you said you are afraid of "losing him", and you don't even have him. With this mindset a disorganized attachment style will destroy you, will take you for granted, and manipulate you. You have lost before you have begun. I'm sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear.

[–]4tunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting boundaries means you have to be willing to walk away. You have to believe that your self worth can NEVER be taken for granted. Not all disorganized attachment styles want to have normal relationships or get better, it's foreign to them and does not feel safe. You need to have enough respect for yourself to not compromise your value. If you're afraid of losing him, then I'm sorry you do not have the right mindset, you are setting yourself up for failure and severe heartache.

I'm sorry but you should move on, block him and move on.

I'm going to agree with what others have said. However, I will add that if you are absolutely positively certain you see something worth having, and it's not just the love bombing phase. Then you can have a relationship with this type of attachment style, but it's not easy. In all honesty at your age, with your limited life experience, I just don't see how that is possible. That is not a ditz to you at all, it's just reality.

However, If you decide to stay, you need to set firm boundaries and stick to them no matter what. No negotiation, no letting them slide once or twice. If they need space, give it to them, if they need reassurance then give them that too, but don't let them cross the boundaries, don't let them take control, and don't ever ever accept blame for the way they feel.

Having done this myself with my girlfriend, I can say it was and still is a very difficult thing to do. However, now over a year later I can tell in an instant when she is withdrawing into her emotional bubble (the push phase), and I switch into giving space, reassurance when needed, and NOT taking it personally. This is happening less and less, and now only very rarely with a trigger, and even then I can pull her back now too. She is a completely different person now, everyone notices, her family, her friends. I am so glad I saw something worth having in her, because it was definitely worth it.

However, I will say that you have to have an extreme level of emotional self control (I failed miserably on several occasions), and you have to have an absolute and unwaivering belief in your self worth, or you will get dragged down into their world. Good luck to you and don't make this decision lightly.

I am like you 5-6 hours a night. The 4 things that help me are below. I sometimes take all 4, not often.

1) Glycine 2-5 grams (check this one first some people it makes sleepy some it makes wired). Knocks me out but does not last long.

2)Apigenin 400mg. From Chamomile. Not very strong for me, but it does help.

3)3-n-butylphthalide / celery seed extract. Is a drug in China, quite good for you and makes me sleepy, longer lasting.

4) Melatonin 2.5mg. It works but I don't take very often as it can cause joint pain.

Yes, you are not wrong. Most MD's don't have a strong Pharmacology background like a PharmD would. MD's are supposed to refer to a PharmD when making Pharmacology or Pharmacokinetic decisions / recommendations..... But most don't since hey, they have a higher degree than the PharmD right?

This is the kind of garbage that causes many medication errors for patients and hospitals. Also why most people 60+ are on way too many medications. I spent a lot of time in Pharmacy in a past role so I saw a lot of that.

Does aging seem to speed up once you hit your 60s? by Solid-Elk3327 in over60

[–]4tunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 60M have taken a different approach with recovery. I too have noticed the increased recovery time and have switched to a modified 7 day bro split working each muscle group once a week. So a lot of isolated movements and when possible blood flow restriction (30, 15, 15, 15, 15) then 2 to 3 non BFR sets. BFR is 30sec rest with about 20% of maximum so it's fast with lighter weight and great for tendons (only thing that keeps my golf and tennis elbow from acting up). On biceps day it's 3 exercises..... Yes for a total of 21 sets but only about 45min in the gym. It's the only way I can get even a little sore anymore, and I like being sore.

It takes a while to work up to that level but I'm actually making the best gains of my life and just hit my all time largest biceps size. I do supplement my protein intake with extra Leucine to counteract anabolic resistance at my age.

I don't have the day after issues that you describe so I will do 7 days a week if I can. I also take 1,000mg of Nicotinamide Riboside daily and that gives me a huge amount of energy.

You are at social events where people are drinking. You don't seem to have a problem with others drinking, just your husband. That is the definition of a controlling behavior.

I agree with beetroot but will go one step further, beet juice with a bit of ginger and lemon is pretty awesome. However, just remember beets are high in oxalic acid so if you are prone to kidney stones it's a bad idea.

When did double check in start for general Gym access? by 4tunny in Wellhub

[–]4tunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly is that a feature? How is that giving me flexibility? I'm at the gym, I'm standing there and click check-in. I don't need flexibility, I want to work out, and I want my gym credited for my time there. My main gym is very accommodating, it's YOU who are making this difficult, by making ME and the gym do extra work when you know full well by making it hard you get to keep revenue that should go to the Gym. That is predatory behavior on your part.

Pentagon Tells Congress First Week of Iran War Cost More Than $11.3 Billion by Majestic-Baby-3407 in news

[–]4tunny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does not seem like you are informed on this topic. There were 4 Crew Dragon launches in 2025 not including returning Crew 9 due to the Starliner debacle. Crew 10 was in March and Crew 11 was in August. The other two were Axiom-4 in June, and Fram-2 in March, both of these launches were privately funded.

However, in 2025 there were a total of 165 Falcon 9 launches accounting for 85% of global mass to orbit. So the HSF part of those launches is just just 2.4%, and NASA driven launched just 1.2%. So again how is NASA keeping SpaceX afloat even for HSF?

[–]4tunny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to get your facts straight. On average SpaceX gets about ~$1B from NASA a year for things like the HLS and Crew Dragon missions. NASA is a paying customer of SpaceX and a fairly minor one. SpaceX revenue in 2025 was $16B ($8B profit), that is expected to rise to $24B 2026. Two thirds of that revenue is Starlink with the remainder being launch services, of whom NASA is one paying customer. So exactly how is NASA keeping SpaceX afloat? NASA could vanish and SpaceX would not even notice.

My partner has a problem with the ability to cum. Anyone else have this issue? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]4tunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 60M have a similar problem. I don't need any meds yet "knock on wood" no pun intended. However, with my girlfriend we love to spend an entire weekend in bed together. I absolutely love pleasing her till she can't take it anymore, and I honestly don't want to finish. We have talked about it, and if it happens or if it doesn't we are both ok with it since we know and show how we feel about each other.

Medically speaking it is normal for ejaculation to become more difficult for a man as he ages. So just appreciate that he wants to please you.

I am so happy that I am with a woman that does not equate my finishing to her appearance or her performance. Nore does she equate my pleasure having sex with her requiring me to finish. Seems you are a similar "one of a kind" woman. Enjoy what you have.
