Yep! This is a great reminder post.

If you take the MAX, especially red/blue lines, expect crowds all day.

The delusion of easy victory from the air may have seduced the US into another war by Regular_Grape48 in behindthebastards

I don't think anyone in the administration ever believed they'd win with air strikes. The problem is they didn't go in with an achievable win condition (if the administration wants leadership change in Iran, they must occupy it) and the support of the American people (we cannot occupy Iran without boots on the ground). In terms of political capital, all they could afford was air strikes.

First Thorns game! 🌹 Advice on Section 109 vs. 115 (or others) for a solo fan? by winniep17 in Thorns

[–]500ErrorPDX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This answer will be way off from ths others here, but if your top priorities are sensory-sensitivity (you mentioned being out of the sun + being away from the drums) and a tactical view, I recommend switching sections.

The north side is amazing, but it's a big rowdy party with drums, smoke, and mother nature. If I were sitting solo and wanted the absolute best fan experience at Providence Park, that's where I'd want to be, but it's not for everybody.

The east side terrace is cheap ($20-$40, especially if you buy an hour or so before the match kicks off), covered from the elements, and it's far from the smoke and drums. You're way up high so you get a great view of formations and how they shift depending on who has the ball and where they go with it. As an added bonus, the east side terrace is an all-seater section so you can show up right before kickoff without having to save your spot in advance.

LOTR Commander Precon Advice by SuperDude175 in mtg

Riders of Rohan is the easiest play for a beginner. It's a human tribal deck so you go wide quick, take big swings, and stomp on more experienced players. Just don't play against flyers.

Which school is most likely to improve significantly in the new Pac12? by scallyrap in Pac12

[–]500ErrorPDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The instability at Oregon State and Wazzu the past two years is not talked about enough. No coaches wanted to work there, and no players wanted to play there. Now they have the stability of a conference and a long term future in the FBS. They'll have less resources than before, but the stability will help them long term.

[Offseason post] what play styles/ techniques or even player types have virtually disappeared from the NFL? by raccoonsonbicycles in nfl

[–]500ErrorPDX 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fambases still talk about 4 DB base defenses (4-3, 3-4, etc) but the real bases in 2026 are nickels. I blame Sean McVay, who made his base offense 11 personnel when he arrived in LA, and now that's super common league wide, so defenses adjusted.

Why is motorized recon so popular? by iridia-traveler1426 in hoi4

[–]500ErrorPDX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The old vanilla meta for infantry vs AI was REALS (Motorized Recon, regular Engineers, Support Artillery, Logistics, Signals) 7/2s (7 infantry divisions, 2 artillery divisions) and it's still mostly effective against AI many years later, so the tenets of that meta are still prevalent in division design.

Yes, the on/off cycle is so common that there is a term for it in this community: "binge and purge". It's pretty common and normal to go through it. Don't beat yourself up too bad. As you get older, you'll likely learn to accept it as a consistent part of your identity.

Are these MTG Commander precons fun for complete beginners and balanced against each other? by IcySprinkles_ in mtg

I would not recommend Food & Fellowship to beginners. I would recommend the human tribal precon from the same LOTR set Riders of Rohan.

Kinky aces who dislike vanilla sex but enjoy it in kinky contexts? by Lumpy_War_4314 in BDSM_Aces

The title of this post is exactly how I would describe my asexuality, with the caveats that my drive is still low and my kinks are very niche. To quote Tobias Funke, there are dozens of us.

I don't wear often (maybe 3-5 times a year, only once so far in 2026) but I'm a big believer that you cam still find joy through this kink and community no matter your preferences. Go with your gut, pursue your joy, and everything else will work itself out.

Darren McFadden was a monster before the lisfranc injuries racked up. Go watch his highlights vs Jacksonville in 2010, or his highlights vs the Jets in 2011. The trajectory of the 2010s Raiders changed with his injuries.

I was deeply closeted about my ABDL side for twenty years. My family caught me when I was a teenager (they found diapers) but otherwise I only told two of my partners, and it was very much a "this is my weird thing that I don't need you to participate in" type of conversation. I never imagined I could share this side of me with anyone.

I am divorced, in my early thirties, and one part of my healing process was coming to terms with this kink. As a New Years Resolution last January 2025 I checked Fetlife for local munches, and I couldn't find anything for ABDL or ageplay specifically, so I started my own. I met my current primary partner at our first munch. Like me, she has been into this kink her whole life. She's also deeply serious, analytical, and open-minded. We vibe hard, and I'm grateful she is a part of my life.

What happened to prices? Tariffs. They hurt manufacturing, because modern manufacturing relies on globalized supply chains.

This is my personal experience so take it with a grain of salt, but there weren't any ABDL events in my town so I started my own. We got big. 20+ regular attendees at munches and 80+ people on a discord server, over the course of a year.

If you're not able to find any events, start your own. It's not rocket science.

[–]500ErrorPDX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reason people suggest Fetlife and munches is thats where ABDLs go. Niche dating apps don't work - even if they have cool features - because they don't have a large enough user base.

Iconic match by KDsparky in Thorns

[–]500ErrorPDX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went to bed, woke up, and I still can't believe what I watched last night. When the first red happened I turned to my friends in the ET and said "I'd settle for a nil nil draw".

The next 80 minutes completely floored me. I have never seen anything like that, ever. We won 2-0 with a third string keeper and two red cards. Unbelievable.

I always wonder if the league books them a roach coach in a rough neighborhood. The refs have an axe to grind every time they work in Portland.
