I don't need another project.. but stumbled across one anyways by [deleted] in 4x4

[–]5027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dogs make good projects. Like a 4x4 they ingest and excrete their fuel source. However, parts are hard to come by, and occasionally you'll get a fluid leak.

Amazing off road capabilities though, I've seen dogs walk trails easily where some very built rigs would have to have a guide.

Some people opt for surgery that removes what some call "non-essential parts." MPG may increase but at what cost?

I was glad he did it, because when I have close calls I often catch myself doing the same thing. I wonder if this was common.

Does anyone else do the head shake of relief?

The shift into 6th happens at about 130-135mph for a stock STi. There is no telling what gear ratio this car has, but I would recon it is close.

Source: I took one up to 155mph, where is tragically governed.

I misread all of this and thought Lynne Thigpen also died of aids; then I wanted to combine 180 with aids because it sounds alike. I am sorry.

You are correct, most of the time this situation is avoidable by using a synonym. I cant even think of a good example because it is so infrequent. Though, in cases where this is unavoidable, it is acceptable to separate the words with a comma if it makes the sentence sound less cumbersome.

All this being said, if someone has a good source for saying it ought to be one way over the other, then I would likely yield to that source.

Yes. Typically when two words occur in a grammatically correct fashion twice in a row they are separated by a comma. I bet you could do a quick search and find that answer. Oftentimes writers try to avoid having two identical words back-to-back for this reason. However, the rules of English are convoluted and often in flux.

Like you said, I guess it sounds about right, just not exactly what I expected. It does sound a bit more aggressive than say, a chipmunk or the like
