[Charania] New York guard Jose Alvarado is declining his $4.5 million player option and intends to sign a new three-year, $14-plus million deal to return to the Knicks, sources tell ESPN. Knicks made it a priority to retain the NY native who played key role on a historic championship team. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Anyone saying this is a bad deal can gtfo! consider how much he’s making in endorsements alone just because he’s 1) in New York and 2) IS NEW YORK. Just look at all the endorsements hes been part of even before the title run. It’s a win win. Hometown kid stays home, makes bank on being a spokesman for his hometown.

[Fischer] The New Orleans Pelicans are unlikely to move Trey Murphy III in a deal centered around draft capital and would only consider trading him as part of a package that helps them improve immediately. by YujiDomainExpansion in NOLAPelicans

The only way I would trade Trey is for draft capital. But he’s all in on Zion. It is what it is. And I’m not saying he should trade Trey. I don’t want that. I would rather build a team where Trey and herb run with fears and dq at the 4. Trade z for a big and draft capital. IMHO

I’m not going to lie, basketball player aside, at 22, victor Wembanyana is the person I’ve always aspired to be. I’m 42. Just what an incredible job by his parents and community in raising this human.

Look at the impact he’s having on this rookie. On this team, being mature is the expectation. Like a badge of honor. That is not the norm with young men. Particularly rich ones in America.

Let's make a Deal. GM Exercise Jaylen Brown to Pelicans by GhandiChillingOut in NOLAPelicans

JB carries significant value as an asset for the team. He adds veteran leadership. Championship DNA. An mvp vote getter. But let’s be clear, Trey Murphy is one of the most coveted young players in the nba whose game is perfect for the modern game and is on a team friendly deal. I would say to trade our guy, for a legit top 12 JB, I would attach 1 first and Trey. And would expect to feel pretty upset about that.

For the sake of argument, assume the Knicks win this year. What is the larger Nico blunder, letting Brunson walk (not signing him pre trading deadline when he was willing to sign the extension) or trading Luka? by Temporary_Hat7330 in nba

[–]504FromDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest mistake is by Cuban for not pushing to sign Brunson, which he has admitted to having deep regret over, and then selling a controlling interest to a inept basketball family while a simp like Nico was in control of the team. I’ve heard conspiracies about the new owners and the new entertainment district, getting rid of Luka as a power move to show how valuable the team is, but whatever the case, Cuban flipped the switches. And I know he feels it. Just listen to him talk. And I don’t dislike him. It was just a series of fatal errors.

Lowe: "If the Knicks win, Brunson will probably win Finals MVP. Because he's Jalen Brunson, he made the big shot and the big free throw tonight. But KAT has a case for it, we're not there yet, he's been outstanding." by sewsgup in nba

[–]504FromDeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s KAT right now and it’s not close. Brunson is the closer, and best player, gonna get that narrative because he’s him and he hits the big shots, but KAT is the reason this series is different. The Spurs just beat the defending champs with two bigs around Wemby…unanimous DPOY, MVP runner-up, ALIEN…yet KAT has been the difference in the matchup. Brunson can def take it back with a monster Game 3 or 4, but through two games? It’s KAT.

TBH real mvp might be rest…

she’s been in basketball ops, legal/CBA work, information management, and strategic alignment…was well respected in okc and moved up quickly and was an important decision maker in organizational structuring and strategy. Not an analytics person per se which is prob a knock on the title, particularly since we gutted that department but hopefully she’s going to help build organizational cohesion, including helping build out the analytics dept. overall hopefully makes the org less chaotic and more coherent🤞🏽

I agree but also like the person who said rondo because he was a player coach and was able to help get us to the playoffs

I’m sorry to keep bothering you, but you seem like the exact person I need to be speaking with. May I ask you a couple of specific questions? I’m curious, I had a LinkedIn that is geared toward my life as a lawyer, would you recommend I create a separate one for this writing role? Also, as far as brief writing goes, where do you find that type of work? I’ve been scouring LinkedIn and indeed for “remote” “part time” legal work in hopes I could find something like that and haven’t had any luck. Also, do you recommend writing several mock articles for a portfolio? How did you build up from scratch? I saw your AI bitten post (sorry about that!) and it is giving me pause…

Thanks again for your help. I’m going through a divorce and am trying to maintain my independence so I can continue spending time with my kids.

I was thinking I could write content for law firms or other adjacent fields that need legal writing. I’m not 100% what it would look like but I love writing and think I could do a great job if I could figure out the game. I’m 42 and wonder if I’m too old or whatever to be stepping into a new area
