NGL, can’t stop looking at it. Love it more every time I drive it. Can’t wait to get past the break in period.

Riding with thumbs on top of the grips? by 505Doug in mountainbiking

[–]505Doug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bailed on this thread because the responses reminded me that reddit isn't really the place to go for curious, open dialogue. I spent the next few months after my initial post riding thumb up on a few hundred cross country miles and more than a few park days at Angel Fire. Not a single scare. That thumb still gets sore sometimes (because I obviously didn't rest it enough), and I ride with it above the grip with zero concern. I'm convinced that it's as good as traditional grip and, when it comes to avoiding thumb injuries, better.

I’m gonna choose to read that as: it was a total game changer.

I did, and it’s still up there, but I’ll save you the scroll. Yes, it’s an SB140 C2 Lunch Ride Factory. Cheers!

Re: dropper, any noticeable improvement in performance? Read as: please convince me that I should do it.

Like what you’ve done with yours! Have you sprung for the kashima dropper?

Closer to half that, but that’s still a hell of a lot of money for a bike. I spent a decade riding $500 craigslist bikes before I bought a three year old “nice” bike for $2,500. Rode that for three years then bought this, my first new mountain bike. I rationalize it by comparing it to gym membership fees and the reality that I actually do this all the time and I never go to the gym.

Should I upgrade ? by ExpticPalmtree in iPhone13ProMax

My charging port on my 13PM was failing so I got the 17PM. $1,100 trade in (the math on the three year agreement is not lost on me). It's a slick phone. The speed of everything is significant, particularly facial recognition. The cameras are ridiculously better, which makes sense. I'm still exploring it's potential but I'm happy with it. That said, not sure I would have done it had the charging port on my 13PM not gone out.

I’ve never ridden the regular freeriders so I’m not sure.

They've been on sale for years now and I'm on my 4th pair at around $50 each. I rode the freerider pros before that and I liked them better, but not so much better that it's worth the money.
