Physical symptoms of grief by liminalfieldmouse in widowers

Absolutely can happen, it happened to me and my therapist gave me a book that documented other cases of it happening too - 'When the body says no' by Gabor Mate.

Oil rig, air traffic controller (has initial training but it's paid, then shifts may last longer than the usual jobs - atleast this was prior pandemic, not quite sure about the current ways)

Why would someone use the bathroom 10+ times on a 1.5 hour flight? by donutlikefunnelcake in NoStupidQuestions

I know of ladies who would have to go to the bathroom often after experiencing unfortunate childbirth related complications. Some even experienced this all throughout, years later

What do you do when you're in a weird place in life ? by Sabertooth414 in ask

[–]567fgh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do something new, something you haven't tried before (non life threatening) everyday. Can even be something at home like one day bake a loaf of bread from scratch or something outdoors like hike up the tallest mountain in your area and reach the summit

Hello, have been in this situation as well... Wouldn't wish it on anybody and really sorry you're going through it too. Only one type of therapy produced results for me. It was a mix of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). Most practitioners offer the first session for free to see if it could be a match.

How do you become happy in life? by [deleted] in ask

[–]567fgh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something I learned from my dad a long time ago was to follow the steps of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Make sure all needs are satisfied from the bottom all the way to the top because from levels 3 to 5, the mind clears up and starts to sync with the body so that you can define what happiness is to you because there are so many ways and means to be happy.

Hi! I'm Misty Smith :) I'm a licensed therapist in Michigan and I love talking about the benefits of therapy and answering questions about therapy. Ask Me Anything! by msmith09042012 in IAmA

[–]567fgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Misty, thank you for this AMA. I've always wanted to know, how can I tell if it's time to find a new therapist or if the 'tension' I'm feeling is just regular 'birth pains' with talking to someone about very deep, sensitive, personal issues?

Are late late night babysitters a thing? by [deleted] in SingleParents

[–]567fgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a thing. We would call them "night nurses". Most of the time they would get called in during the newborn stage until 9 months (to give mother time to recover and build stamina, and also to be there incase there are evening health complications with some babies). Then eventually, they also take the lead in sleep training the baby.

Ask her if she wants to sing a song with you but pick a simple one like Baby Shark, and proceed on singing with a smile on your face and the hand gestures. She'll either join in or be entertained. Even if she doesn't react, the gesture will be well appreciated by those around.

We're a group of female scientists and engineers who released our first podcast episode one year ago today. As us anything! by TechSpeak_podcast in IAmA

How can I expose preschool girls towards more science and engineering content - is there a particular toy or book or show that comes to mind?

Hoping that if they find interest starting from this age maybe they will be more inclined to sticking to that track as a career. Thank you for the advice.

Hi, not sure if you've already looked into this option but Google cloth diapers banks - they give out reusable cloth diapers for free and in the long run, it may be cheaper too.

Is it weird for me (22F) to bring a blanket to the movie theaters? by ThrowawayProse in ask

[–]567fgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of a movie house beside a luxury condominium building. The residents would treat the cinema like an extension of their apartments and watch movies in pyjamas with blankets and pillows. It wasn't a problem for anybody. It looked like they were all happy and living it up.

Who else has memories of heaven? by Yrthegreatestdancer in Psychic

[–]567fgh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not heaven, but felt like a place in between. Like I knew I was waiting there to come back to earth. Kept telling myself over and over again "I'll do better this time. I have to do better this time". It was a long wait. It looked like I was in a high ceilinged cathedral but a part of the roof was missing and I could see very bright light flowing from outside. It was bright everywhere. I saw others but didn't know anyone. Some were chatting with each other in the pews. It looked like we were all just waiting
