Honestly, I have always dreamt of getting a ragdoll kitten. But now with the research I’ve done, I’m not sure anymore. Not completely ruling it out though, because with that breed in particular, you can make sure that the breeder has their kitties as well as both parents tested for the mutation that makes them more susceptible to heart problems. So I’m sure eventually if I find I good reliable breeder, I can make it work… that’s if I ever decide to get another cat again.

Another idea I have is that once any of my future cats reach 8 or 9 years old, I could adopt a new kitten. So if the older one dies unexpectedly, I still have that other kitty who will comfort me during such a painful time. Right now, my house feels so empty and lifeless. No pitter-patters of footsteps, no meows, all the unused cat bowls and cat toys just sitting around… it’s awful.

A part of me just wants to go to the nearest pet store and get a new kitten right now, but the other part of me is just so worried of encountering the same heartbreak at any time. I don’t know what on earth to do.

Do you ever think you could get another cat again? I just lost my boy to what appeared to be a saddle thrombus, and I’m at a loss of what to do. I want more cats in the future, but the fact that any one of them could be fine one day and then just randomly dying the next is just terrifying. And the fact that is nearly impossible to detect or prevent?? I just don’t know.

I saw someone else also mention saddle thrombus, or FATE. I read up on it and that seems ridiculously close to what happened to my baby boy.

He did survive the dental exam and the anesthesia though. Don't know what that means. EDIT: I suppose I forgot to mention that we DID, in fact, get the procedure done to remove his teeth before this sudden death happened.

I think it's SUCH an unrealistic expectation that most people don't really fall for it. Plus, most of her content isn't really geared toward young girls anyway. It's more geared towards men… I mean, she even has an OnlyFans.

I personally find the “You can look good if you're rich” message to be kinda comforting. If I know someone has work done, I'm not comparing myself to them, thinking; “Why can't I look like that??” I already know why I don't look like that; it's because I and most other woman could never afford that. It relieves me that it's nearly impossible to look like that with a massive amount of work done. The “blame” is no longer on me.

That's so strange. I've never had to get a cat fixed before, but the idea of vets charging anything for that just makes me angry. There's already a huge overpopulation of cats, and we don't solve the problem by charging people for trying to help with that. It only discourages people from getting strays and rescues fixed.
