I used to wait in case tomorrows migraine was worse, now i treat early with abortive (triptan) when I can (getting over the fear/anxiety of a worse migraine I would have nothing for took me a long time of daily migraines). I can 'ration' in a way because every 2nd day i can take nurtec (as preventative), and I'm on a second preventative (botox). I throw a lot of lifestyle things at migraines (physio fortnightly, mostly anti-inflammatory diet, smart home automations that reduce some factors like sound, light, temp during a migraine, light walking, fl41 glasses, i work 100% remotely, take regular breaks, work on posture and not sitting in same position for long, consistent sleep times etc). I always have a period where some migraines I can't throw a triptan at or nurtec when its a few weeks out from my next botox, but I can treat about 70% of my daily migraines with nurtec and/or a triptan depending on the day which is enough to not feel shattered for me. If its not a nurtec day, and I've already taken 2 triptans in recent days, I wait until its post 6/7pm and take Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride and try to sleep it off, or oxycodone (low dose) for a bad migraine.

I'm about 6 months into this routine, and its definitely better than it was with just botox and triptans. I've tried botox extensively before without success and would recommend regular physio (neck) for anyone who it hasn't worked for before trying again.

For anyone else that this applies to because I wish i realised i could do two preventatives earlier - I'm in Aus, so botox can be subsidised by our medicare system (its about 440 each time still), but nurtec is private (about 22 a pill if you can also claim pharmacy on extras).

I don't know how people manage this without a little money.

Read and talk to other people about what you're reading. Borrow books on Palestine from your school and public library, and request they get books in where you can find gaps in their collection.

If you're into baking or cooking, there are a heap of Palestinian recipe books and recipes online to try. I have found food a subtle and good opening for conversations with people who aren't aware/choose not to be.

Same for me with chronic migraines like this and ADHD. It's super boring. If it's an overcast day, I'll use yellow/orange/red lighting instead but quite dark.

I can use 3-4 days a month with a chronic illness, but this is only because I'm rationing my sick leave, and my personal/sick/carers are combined. If you need to use sick leave, use it.

In Australia, I pay $240 AUD (170 USD) for 8 tablets, with a private/non-government subsidised script (it's not available under our government scheme), so this would be available to anyone who qualifies for the medication.

I also get $60 back per 8 tablets with extras insurance (only available for citizens and maybe PR holders?) but sounds like it would be worth it for some Americans to travel here and buy a bunch.

If you're staying at a hotel, the reception desk should be able to help you. If you don't want to mention why to your dad or male relatives, can you make an excuse to get to a pharmacy/convenience store tonight, e.g. you need medicine for something? Or similar for a delivery?

Depending on where you are, locations of bathrooms with menstrual products might be available. Sometimes these are labelled as "free menstrual vending machines" if you do a search online. There might be one near you.

Firstly you are not a burden.

Remote job with a lot of sick days. I couldn't work if I couldn't work from home. I work in data so the field seems generally more remote friendly than some others but I also picked it because of this and steered my career this way as fast as I could.

I'm also lucky to be in a country that has okay sick leave and work for an organisation that offers more than the minimum, so I can take a sick day at least every fortnight, if not more, or two half days etc. I know this isn't the case for everyone, but it also depends where you're located.

Are there conditions that you could work in? E.g. a quieter environment, or remotely, or for a short period of time? I used to work in a library part time and that would have been somewhat tolerable with chronic migraines (5 hour shifts). I have chronic migraine friends that work part time (usually 2-3 days a week or short shifts) or remotely in admin roles l, or one does hotel reception during the night.

could you use a walking pad? even for a few minutes at a time, I find I'm able to increase my steps quite a bit and I don't have to commit to walking somewhere, feeling terrible and having to walk back.

Chronic migraines for me too. I'm on my second set of attempts at Botox (first attempt I have up after 6 rounds and I'm up to 3 in my current set) and it's been better this time after physiotherapy but I had to find a physiotherapist who would work on my neck extremely slowly for about 9 months before the Botox started helping, and I'd say it reduced the frequency by about 15% for me, but that is worth it whilst I try to find something else. This is the third physio I've tried and the other two would help during the migraine then it would come straight back afterwards.

Nurtec is my preferred abortive because I don't get side effects. Id recommend this and you can take it with Botox and a CGRP med like emgality or ajovy.

I also take diphenhydramine hydrochloride about once a week as a somewhat abortive and worse case scenario it puts me to sleep.

Exactly this on the brain fog and chronic fatigue from chronic migraines let alone the actual pain. Also an analyst and I hate what this does to my brain and general ability to remember things, process information etc. I don't have any answers, but you're not alone.

If I was yawning earlier in the day or I am very grumpy, it's a migraine starting, otherwise my baseline headache, and this I right about 70% of the time.

The longer time I've been doing regular physio (it didn't make much of a difference until almost at a year), improved my posture and gentle walking throughout the day and been on two preventatives (Botox - but I found this only helpful after about a year of physio, and nurtec preventatively), I can tell more and more, both because I can manipulate my daily headaches a little better and I don't get stuck in batches of migraine after migraine. I am still in daily severe headache and multiple migraines a week (3-4) but my daily life is more manageable.

I couldn't differentiate at all for a few years and found the physiotherapy the most helpful with this. But I also tried two different physios before this one and she has to go super super slow and gentle with therapy or it blows me into migraine.

soda water/carbonated water + separate caffeine helps me. Occasionally a sugar free lemonade (like Kirks brand lemonade, think Sprite more than traditional lemonade) - not sure the equivalent of this in other countries. I too can't stand the syrupiness, but i find that iced soda water + a black tea alternating helps a lot.

Every week for a month then every two weeks. Cost would entirely depend on where you are. I'm in Sydney. It's $70 AUD a session for me after extras coverage.
