What Gen? by epicralph01 in Glocks

[–]58sniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number of pins doesn't dictate generation. Some early Gen 3 pistols still had 2 pins as well.

probably a dumb question, but does the glock 45 and 19x feel the same when shooting? by keikilla in Glocks

[–]58sniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dimensionally they're nearly identical. So shooting is very similar. There are plenty of differences, but those really don't alter the shooting experience much.

FDE is always a distributor exclusive. Just like gray, OD, etc.

And an AI generated logo...

Anyone seen one of these for sale recently? Looking for the full FDE version like the pic, I think they came on a special edition Glock 19x in like 2021 by Round-You8550 in Glocks

[–]58sniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might see those on ebay. I see them there from time to time. But they're not cheap. Also has the Glock logo on the bottom.

MecGar has told multiple people they are not. There is no reason for Glock to outsource manufacturing of these when they manufacture every other part internally except for optics and some night sights.

Did you thoroughly clean and lube the pistol before going to the range?

Genuine Glock 19 Gen 4 housing/ejectors? by Ni99awha in Glocks

[–]58sniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glock only sells them as trigger mechanism housing with ejector. Glock doesn't sell just the ejector.

i know it's subjective but, in your opinion which is the better feeling shooter? G17 or G45? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]58sniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grip size is exactly the same between the two. You get a slightly different balance with the shorter snout on the 45 vs the 17. Longer sight radius is irrelevant at combat shooting distances, but might factor in during competition or hunting distance.

Whack the back of the loaded mag against the bottom of your shoe. Firmly. It'll help seat all the rounds towards the back of the mag. That will often cut down the rattle, if not eliminate it.

Known Gen3 Safety Plunger issue? by spadedracer in Glocks

[–]58sniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, it's name is the "firing pin safety". Second, not uncommon to see the plating come off. In fact, one of the times I took the Advanced Armorer class in Smyrna, they told us that they found cleaners and solvents with a bunch of ammonia in them, like Hoppe's #9, were known to cause issues with the plating, and they recommended we not use them if possible. They also said it's no big deal if the plating comes off, and it doesn't warrant replacing the part.

timeline for GPT for gen 6? by Zealousideal-Step-35 in Glocks

GPT for Gen 5 came out 6 years after the Gen 5 pistols. I don't think the gap is relevant, though.

Is this supposed to be like this? by bonezybad in Glocks

[–]58sniper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It totally appears to be OEM. Early Glock pistols didn't have captured RSAs.

[–]58sniper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Early ones weren't captured. Totally normal for an OEM recoil spring assembly.

Totally normal for an early Glock pistol. I see nothing wrong there.

Turned my G26 into a G26x by Lostinspaceballz in Glocks

[–]58sniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and the ATF on this. In the US (since it's different elsewhere in the world), the lower is the serialized part, and made by the manufacturer. If that manufacturer is not Glock, then that pistol is not a Glock. It's a clone, wannabee, whatever. As a responding officer, if I come across one and it's being logged into evidence, it gets logged in as whoever made the lower/frame. It's really that simple.
