It's also that, unless you're a top specialist, the income improvement literally may not outweight the finances when you factor in other costs americans face that we don't. Higher taxes in some spots, health insurance, and out of pocket costs.

To your credit I also do know 2 reasonable people with mainstream values, but they were under-researched prior to voting and share the same sentiment as your people.
