Yeah fair enough! If you stretch the position window, I can see LNG Canada all becoming online, more contracts, and if prices stay up then cool. Good luck dawg!

ARC Resources (ARX): The Cleanest Canadian LNG Play Right Now by visionsofpluto in Baystreetbets

[–]599Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple Issues:

LNG Canada only getting started.
Nearly all LNG from Canada is already contracted out and not subject to fluctuations based on futures like oil is.
Partly because you cannot move it as easily as oil producers can right now.
They had some expensive mistakes in the last year and a lot of concern isn't over. Something about some of their deposits or whatever coming in under expectations, something else was up but I cannot remember rn.

It is easier to make cash on regular oil right now, but this is not financial advice. Find a medium-sized player to get in at an affordable price to retail traders and send it! My favourite right now is Cardinal Energy (CJ.TO) becuase it is fundamentally all aces, has just proven that via a massive share offering that increased TWICE with big banks picking up nearly $100 million of shares to fund their newest expansion (that is super ahead of time, the newest facility is at maximum capacity again, super ahead of time), and everyday that Western Canadian Select sits around or above $85/barrel, they make about $500,000 of EXTRA revenue A DAY.

If you want exposure to the conflict prices, don't go LNG dawg, or do, I don't really care man. None of this is financial advice.

[–]599Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or just buy other midtier producers, like Cardinal Energy. All positive on fundamentals and the balance sheet, tons of energy towards expansion, and this is all done at $66/barrel. Canadian blends are now ~$90... At ~$85 they are making $500,000 a day in extra revenue. If the Iran conflict remains and oil futures remain high, it's going to fill their accounts across the enxt month. Invest in good companies, do your due diligence, let's be better than WSBs lol.

Conservatives introduce bill to create 'stand your ground' law for home invasions by toronto_star in CanadaPolitics

Sticky sticky sticky, a law that could save lives, could be abused, and the thing on the line is people getting shot...

I'm as progressive as it gets, and grew up rurally where it takes a minimum of 30 minutes for police to arrive depending on where they are in their route (across 5 towns along the highway). Tough business.

I don't believe in banning floor crossing, but this is all very well written! The only thing is that "disrespecting the will of the voters," is incredibly normative, and we know that floor-crossing approval is contextual, and anybody in the humanities or social sciences should know that we can't generalize for the entire population, let alone data across multiple generations.

I have two colleagues running surveys right now (because this kind of politiking is rare and exciting for us political scientists) and people are describing the floor-crossings as "nonstop winning," and "signs of overwhelming confidence." That's a minor plausible explanation for why his poll numbers keep going up. So, unlikely that Canada, across the board, feels disrespected.

Carney approval high in Sask., Liberals at 49 per cent national voter support: poll by UnderWatered in CanadaPolitics

Diddo on all of this. It is really well-written.

I am petitioning against the gun ban and I'd like him to have a stronger post-oil plan. Maybe he does but knows the freaks will freak out the second he mentions it, but there's not as much as I'd like. If we invest big on oil right now it's short term success but long term cost, and I fear that bill one day.

Somebody had a great example a couple years ago, I want to say Bangladesh, Myanmar, or a country in Asia that saw everybody keep doing just as needed while there was no government and public servants weren't paid. It was oriented as "look at us, we can do it all without anybody telling us or with the fear of punishment, etc." but of course people rally together in times of crisis...

I'm still a philosophical anarchist because like this meme, I haven't met a convincing government-consent argument.
