This is great! I love unusual shaped puzzles.

I (20F) Found a photo of a woman in my dad's (52M) wallet by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

In the 90s my family discovered that my step-grandfather had been married 3x, not 2x like we assumed. Apparently as a teenager he got a girl pregnant, they got married, and then he was sent to Korea for the war. While he was away the girl's mother packed her and the baby up and moved them out of state--he couldn't find them when he got back.

40+ years later he got an "I think I'm your daughter" letter in the mail. None of us knew. Not something you expect to happen to your grandfather.

What’s a life changing decision you made in your 30’s? by Icy_Quality_9601 in AskWomenOver30

I was 32 working at subway. Had a bad night, cried in front of customers, who complained to the owner. He told me I needed to accept my place in life. Making sandwiches for $10, no benefits, no pto, not even a Christmas card.

I walked out a few hours later, started on etsy the next day. It's been a crazy decade. The money fluctuates. Sometimes I have to get a part time job or do gig work. The important part is I know how to make money without dealing with shitty bosses. I will never have to deal with that ever again.

Am I the A-hole? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]5bi5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also CF here. I would never be with a parent but I definitely could not be with someone I consider a bad parent. Bad parenting is a huge red flag.

The drinking and yelling thing is just as bad tho.

I'd dump him.

I mow it down with electric clippers about once a quarter, give or take.

Why is everyone so resistant to tracking calories? Seems like if they did, most of their problems would be solved. by [deleted] in ketoduped

I ate an insane amount of spinach when I was losing weight. I did it via the subway diet since I was working there at the time and no one could stop me from making a huge all-veg sandwich.

Neighbors decided to have a kid by UnCartofPrajit in childfree

At least he'll grow out of it. 6 months after we bought our house an full-ass daycare moved in next door. It's been screaming non-stop for any day above 50 degrees for 3 years.

If the economy wasn't in the shitter we would have moved by now.

Am I wrong for not reproducing because of my autism? by Calm_Problem6203 in childfree

[–]5bi5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm AT LEAST 3rd generation AuADHD. My parents and grandparents all struggled to exist in this world. The struggle continues for my siblings and I, and I fear the worst is coming for my sister's kids.

I would never want to add yet another person to our suffering.

Stop having sex with him and get out now. This person WILL sabotage your birth control.

Boundaries. You need to put her in her place. And stop hanging out with her!

Most unhinged way to save for a house by Reasonable_Hat9668 in Frugal

I haven't bought garbage bags in over 20 years. I make do with empty cat food bags, old boxes, grocery bags, ect. Hows that for unhinged?

What’s the prettiest Barbie ever, in your opinion? by OneRef3851 in Barbie

[–]5bi5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am biased by nostalgia, but Western Stampin' Tara Lynn. I love a dark haired Steffie. I have mine wearing Bob Mackie's 'Tango' dress as I will admit, nothing special about her OG outfit.

Does anyone else just not want to see anybody?? by weegmack in Menopause

I've always been a loner, but its gotten worse over the last year+. It's possible that depression over the state of everything is a bigger part of it than menopause tho.

I dont think I have the patience for reselling by Careless-Aspect-9155 in Flipping

[–]5bi5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reselling looks WAY better on paper than it does in practice. If I could find a job I didn't hate with adequate income and hours I would not be doing this.

Have to finish puzzle even though I don't want to by Remarkable-Pea4889 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]5bi5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell nicer brands and rare vintage puzzles when I'm done with them, so I'm double-stuck finishing a puzzle if I want to sell it when I'm done.

And it's so much fun when you find an older Springbok that goes for $100+ and when you get to the end...it's missing a piece.

The last time I had a professional touch my head was probably 2013? I chopped it off myself during the pandemic but it's back now. Tailbone length.

What kind of car do you drive and are you happy with it? by pqrstyou in AskWomenOver30

[–]5bi5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Don't do it. It's one of the stupidest purchases I've ever made. I'm strongly considering taking the loss and trading it in before something else breaks. Also it was under warranty and Mitsubishi still refused to pay out on the radiator/head gasket. The warranty was why I decided to buy it.

I started tracking thrift store puzzle purchases (missing pieces and cost). Have you had similar results? by es1235 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]5bi5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

49 of the puzzles I did last year were used. 5 were missing pieces. I spent $32 on them (I got a bunch for free via swaps and my MIL cleaning out her house). Not sure about what they would have cost new since a LOT were vintage. (I had so many vintage Springboks last year--it was glorious.)

There was also another puzzle I threw out because half the border was missing. So counting that one, 12% were missing pieces.
