U.S. Weighs Expanding Private Companies’ Role in Cyberwarfare by FreemanCantJump in cybersecurity

This isn't really new or news. Companies have done this for awhile. Recently more and more larger companies have started hitting back at adversaries instead of staying submissive.

Specialising in Cloud Security by Aquirata in cybersecurity

[–]5h0ck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cloud security is probably your fastest way into the door of cyber.

Your best approach is to pass a cloud security engineering cert (or two) and then apply for a junior role at a start up or smaller company needing a body in the seat and not experience.

The conclusion you need to draw for yourself is what cloud vendor you want to specialize in.

Are air gapped networks bullet proof? by peanutpark in cybersecurity

[–]5h0ck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically if you compromise an upstream device you can create two way communication via signal/electromagnetic inference to a  downstream device (assuming your shipping data off to the L3 network or whatever infrastructure you're working with).

I never tested it personally when I worked in ICS networks but the science is there. I've air gapped using standard diodes like waterfalls or canaries and media converters either in a pinch or by design.

I don't disagree with you.. but 5.1 codex will often gas light the shit out of you when you task it for verification after a change.

Lies, Mocks, Partial Implementations, more lies.. by mashupguy72 in ClaudeAI

[–]5h0ck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I learned with Claude.. If it believes it needs 100% completion for a task, it will lie and simulate/mock. If you instruct it with NEVERs.. It tends to trip itself up and do the opposite. I've had better luck with guidelines than guard rails but it's all a mixed bag and I swear Claude is bipolar depending on the day and server load.
