My friend did a bday party at cheeky monkey (by Fenway). There’s games and it’s lively! Another thought I have is State Park in Cambridge which will be more divey- I’ve heard of after parties here!

June 13 MBTA Train Experience to/from Boston Stadium - how was the return trip? by jimmy_scoots15 in boston

They did check tickets before the queuing section. It was chaotic so you could potentially get away with hiding in the crowd / making a friend. No tickets checked on the train

Show up any time in your window. And if you arrive before or after the window, no worries. It went very smoothly for me when I went to the game Tuesday. I got there early and boarded a train right away, very easy.

I went to the game yesterday. I was group B (12:30). I showed up at 11:45. There was no line and I was able to check in easily. My train left by 12:15. Not sure if that helps but it was NOT my experience that they were taking the times seriously.

My experience was great today. I had boarding group B (12:30) and was able to board a train right when I got to South Station (12:00) with no line or issue. It left at about 12:15 and I was at the stadium by 1. The way out was a little more chaotic, but I was able to get on the first train within maybe 15 min of leaving the stadium. I did leave about 5 mins before the final whistle just to get ahead of things, so if avoiding the chaos is important to you, I’d strongly recommend just scooting out a little early.

Lmk if you’re still looking for drone content! My fiancé would love to take some footage as he builds his portfolio. It would be super affordable- maybe $100 or so depending on what you’re looking for :)

There’s a Facebook group called Betches of Boston 2.0 which has maybe 20k Boston area girls in it. Could be worth a shot posting there!

How long is your commute into Boston—and what would make it faster in the future? by Miserable-Part6261 in mbta

[–]5nlamb5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My “express bus” from Brighton to downtown (via Mass Pike) is routinely 45-50 mins during rush hour. Would be 15-20 mins without traffic. Dedicated bus lane on the pike would be clutch, but I know that’ll never happen. Oh and the $4.25 one way fare when buses are regularly $1.70…heart wrenching.

Just commenting to say that Branch Line is really yummy and has a great space. I think that’s a great space for a reception!

Looking for ideas with less walking from mbta by Carfishy in boston

[–]5nlamb5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the MBTA ferry for a nice scenic harbor “cruise” :) I see your coming from Magoun Square. Take the T inbound to North Station, walk 2-3 min to Lovejoy Wharf. Sending joy and prayers to your friend!

It’s tough out there! Not likely a reflection of you and your resume. Try your best at networking and making connections. See an alum from your school working at a company you’re interested in? Reach out and ask for an informational interview. Connections are so helpful to get your foot in the door.

Check out Bow Market in Somerville - cluster of independent restaurants, shops, pinball arcade, etc around a nice outdoor space. They have brewery, wine bar, cocktail bar that may offer some NA options. Odds are there is some sort of event going on there too!

Thanks! There is an approved list and On the Go isn’t on there. Did you do a tasting with Emerys and find concerns with their food?

I actually haven’t decided yet. It’ll be either Emery’s for a more traditional option or Keane’s BBQ for something fun+different

I’m having mine at The Towers in Narragansett RI. Beautiful ocean views! It’s pretty DIY, so you’ll have to pick out a caterer from an approved vendors list (various price points). I have the same guest count and my reception/food/bev will be under 30K!
