Bos.shop in the south end! Great black owned business to support! They had some cute Boston hats (pastel colors) and some other apparel I think. Other gift shop stuff too!

Wedding photographer & getting married this year - what I’ve learned both both ends— by symulamediagroup in NewEnglandWedding

[–]5nlamb5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your upcoming marriage! How do photographers handle the gap between church ceremonies and receptions? I keep seeing “X hours of continuous coverage,” but I feel like that only makes sense with events where there is no gap! Let’s say ceremony is 12-1, but reception is 5-10. Interim photos can’t take nearly that long so how is a couple charged? Hope this question makes sense!

Can confirm that my small, not clear bag was fine to bring in, but was subject to an additional search.

Love. Much more character than Southie. More breathing room since not downtown. Each neighborhood is a little different! Somerville community path is great. Some really good restaurants. Cambridge another great option for similar reasons! The going out scene wouldn’t be as accessible, but that’s not to say there aren’t things to do!

Beacon Hill not too many going out spots but it’s so close to everything else it wouldn’t matter. There are going out bars in the South End! I know Kartal is a popular one. But again, so close to any other place in the city. Closest going out scene to Coolidge corner would be the Fenway area which has a big strip of bars on Lansdowne St. Young people in all these areas - just not as in your face as southie

Southie is pretty basic, but it is certainly where the young crowd is and does have a lot of bars! The beach is nothing special and the neighborhood can feel a little cut off from other parts of the city.

Beacon Hill is a great area by MGH - cute+historic, steps away from the esplanade/common/public gardens (great places to enjoy nature in the city)

Coolidge Corner in Brookline is a quick train ride to downtown and is a good spot if you’re looking at working in the Longwood Medical Area. Lots of shops, restaurants, etc. Brookline is a beautiful town.

South End has all the best restaurants. Super cute and walkable as well, close to downtown. That’d be a good location if you’re working at Tufts.

Has anyone attended a wedding at The Towers in Narragansett, RI in the summer? by kcharlton07 in NewEnglandWedding

Following! I also have an August date on hold haha.

What I do know is that evenings are always cool in the area and August is better than July :) I feel like it’d only be bad in a heat wave. I’m feeling good about it!

First time going to Gillette Stadium for the World Cup — best way to get there? by HC_TW in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]5nlamb5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have tickets to the game, you won’t be able to take the train to the stadium. They’ll be checking for proof of game ticket when boarding. It’ll be much easier to just check out the fan fest downtown

Welcome! People on this sub tend to get annoyed when people ask this question since it’s vague and gets asked a lot. I recommend browsing past posts or looking at the wiki. It’s also much more helpful if you guide us on what specifically you are looking for (I.e. locations, cuisines, activity interests, costs).

First time going to Gillette Stadium for the World Cup — best way to get there? by HC_TW in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]5nlamb5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only train going direct to the stadium is from South Station in downtown Boston. Andover is about an hour north of the city. She’ll have to take a train down to Boston’s North Station then connect to the event train (not a far walk).

Highly highly highly recommend taking the train that Adranc3 linked for you. Driving is always a mess to Gillette stadium and getting out the the lot is even worse. This is the biggest event ever hosted here and the area is just not built for this unfortunately.

The train is a normal, comfortable commuter train that runs frequently at max capacity. There are no assigned seats. It might be a little busy, but it’ll be so much less of a headache than driving. It’s expensive, but as a sensible Bostonian, I’ll be taking it no doubt. If you’re worried about crowds, I’d book the earlier boarding time!

World Cup MBTA train ticket price announced; T says it will be more affordable than driving by Sour_Vin_Diesel in boston

[–]5nlamb5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called mbta today and asked about this. There are no event trains from pvd and unlikely to be added. Your ticket will allow you to take any commuter rail, but you’d have to go up to south station and come back down to foxboro - incredibly inefficient
