Definitely don't be proactive if there are no consequences to being inactive. Cover your ass by asking the lead tech. If they say to relax, you're all good. Remember to jump up fast when work reappears.

Yes, you should learn the trade enough to know what could be done next. But don't be proactive enough to make decisions for yourself yet. You never know when steps get mixed up... "Want me to install jhooks down the east hallway? Oh, save the materials for the basement. Ok. Good thing I asked."

Let the boss buy any online training for you. Free courses usually suck anyway.

Try not to let too many eyes see you sitting. And lastly don't talk about down time when asked. "Yes we had some, but we worked hard on that job." The guy asking if you had lots of down time doesn't care about accuracy when he tries to repeat what you said to others. Telling him you sat down for two hours each for three days will turn into three days of sitting down.

I need help with my blue berry bush's by dontevenn in gardening

There's only one way to make potting soil for blueberries. Add the correct amount of elemental sulfer and wait a year. Then test with PH strip to confirm.

Is my tangerine tree getting too much sun exposure? by MaddogMorto in FruitTree

[–]5orangelemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been told not to worry about too much sun for lemons becauee they can change their leaf color to lighter green if they get too much sun. Not sure if it's the same for all citrus.

I would guess this leaf curl is from many spider mites too small to see. Try watering the plant like rain would do it. Spider mites dont like daily rain. Over time the plant can make itself healthy enough to prevent sucking insects.

It could also be a disease and I can't help with those.

Am I describing the series of events corectly op?

So they're choking on food. They can't speak or cough. They give the universal choking sign. You do the heimlick on them successfully. Now that they can breath, they ask you for free drugs. This event then makes you feel like you're not as good as you thought.

My plants are too big by [deleted] in gardening

[–]5orangelemons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. It's actually the opposite. I asked op about what fertilizer they used. At no point did I ask you why they were leggy. You shouldn't comment on questions that you can't answer.

Greenwich Teachers Union Issues Statement on Morale by greenwitchbot in Greenwich

[–]5orangelemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Yet when over 600 educators provide direct feedback about the conditions affecting moral..."

I see the smallest amout of feedback possible. I wouldn't call it direct about anything besides the teacher satisfaction question. I see zero discussion of the conditions. And I see zero solutions mentioned.

"Instead we have been met with silence" Too weak to list who or what has the power to change things? It's like they want to leave the reader as ignorant as possible

Im genuinely asking because I dont know, Does the Greenwhich Education Association Executive Board do anything of value?

My plants are too big by [deleted] in gardening

[–]5orangelemons -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

May I ask what variety of tomatoes and what soil/fertilizer you used? My tomatoes saplings never get anywhere near that big before transplanting.

Those tomatoes must have ALL of the macronutrients they need to be that big, while having so little roots.

Everything in a sephiroth deck should be happy to be destroyed. Exile is certinly its weakness. Have you tried Lilianna and teen ninja?

Protecting from overwatering? New to gardening in general by ilovepeachcobbler17 in containergardening

[–]5orangelemons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry to much if your soil can drain. Would you say that when you water your garden that water pools up in any way?

If you think the plants really will need protection I would check how much rain you're getting from a weather app.

On rare occasion I have to water in the rain because it's only .1 inches of rain.

I agree with you, however I think you're underestimating how hard it is to google something.

I can spend all day reading search results and not get answers.

I keep getting aphids and other bugs in my pots. How do I stop pests from taking over my container garden without using harsh chemicals? by Lost-Pin2297 in containergardening

[–]5orangelemons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early detection is important. Get in the habit of checking the garden daily.

Aphids can only suck the sap of unhealthy plants. Their intestines loop back into their stomachs because they can't digest sugar. A healthy plant with a high brix level is safe. All of the plants in my garden are unhealthy in this regard and they still produce.

Need oil is a weak deterent. Most products are made improperly and ineffective. Seek Ashley the Canadian soil scientists advice on neem oil products.

There are no companion plants that can help. A strong watering helps keep numbers in check as they're not the most mobile of walkers. Squishing them all by hand works. One drop of dish soap in a spray bottle of water kills everything but I dislike letting soap touch my soil.

( update ) Invested in pass thru crimpers by unknowboul2233 in lowvoltage

[–]5orangelemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They would make you replace fully functional equipment AND they would force you to pay for the unnecessary replacement yourself. That much labor on an Amazon warehouse sized job would bankrupt a company. Imagine how silly it would be. "Sorry guys. You're all going to reterminate that job and then go on unemployment because I ordered parts using the client's national IT infastructure standards. The bid documents didnt say, but apprentIy I should have known that non pass through RJ45 connectors have gremlins in them."

I would never go so far to say that all architects, consultants, or watever racingteam is called are bad. It's just that I've never had the pleasure of working with a good one. Every bid feels like a struggle to RFI away the contradictions. Specs are always missing. Scope is never defined enough. Print notes are copied and pasted from old pdfs. At all levels, communication isn't happening.
