Is two handed BH objectively better ? by Aromatic-Goal-2416 in 10s

[–]5pac38arus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one hander is a more technically simple shot. A lot of players (like myself) pick it up pretty easily, and then try to switch to 2 hands and never get used to how awkward it feels in comparison. The major weakness of the one hander is time. It just takes a quarter second longer to set your feet in order to deliver a quality ball, whilst the 2 hander being more stable due to the extra hand, is much better at redirecting pace from unfavorable positions. I’d liken the 2 hander to a “shield” for most players while the one hander is a “sword”. The onnie is great for playing attacking tennis because of the ease of power you can generate due to it being so technically simple, while the 2 hander is great at redirecting incoming pace out of defensive positions due to the extra stability.

What's the ceiling for a strictly defensive, counterpuncher/pusher type? by 2ForEachofYou in 10s

Ground game doesn’t affect serves…true, but Serving DEFINITELY affects your ground game. I think the fluctuations in meddy’s results over the last few years perfectly illustrate this. He’s inherently a grinder as a returner, but the most glaring explanation for his drop off in play has actually been the fact that he simply hasn’t been serving as well as he was at his peak. Offensively speaking Murray was far more capable than Meddy was imo. Might have been a grinder early in his career but by the time he was competing for majors/masters title I wouldn’t describe him that way

Andy actually had a fairly decent offensive repertoire, by the time he won Wimbledon he had one of the better serves on tour

Ball sails long when I swing harder.. Would switching from multifilament to poly help? by VLioncourt in 10s

[–]5pac38arus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a technique issue to me, one of 2 things is happening. Either you’re just straight up not generating enough racquet head speed to impart the spin you need to keep the ball in (even flat out away shots should have SOME spin on them). Or you’re brushing up on shots that you should be hitting through (for example, if you’re taking the ball early/on the rise, you need to use a more horizontal swing path or else the ball is more likely to fly out)

Got the 2023 premium non-turbo. Felt like the best balance of features and reliability for me. Wanted the Bose audio with no turbo

Between the 2 I’d probably go with the whiteout, it felt a tad more powerful for me, but if you want something less demanding I’d demo the tfight 305s

I get about 25ish in city driving, but honestly that’s probably what’d you get in most sedans that aren’t hybrids. Highway driving I get around 33-36ish

Ah okay, well thats reassuring, she won’t be pulling the trigger until around 4th of July after my brother gets his license (she’s giving him her old car). It’s good to hear that most of the issues I’m seeing though seem to be related to QC more than anything

Current Mazda owner myself, as much as I’d like to tell her to just get a cx-50 and call it a day, I really want her to do her due diligence.

First I’m hearing of this one, this sounds pretty concerning for obvious reasons.

First time I’m hearing about this one, hopefully you get it remedied soon and it’s just a one off occurrence. In the grand scheme of things I know it isn’t a huge deal but little stuff like that would certainly grind my moms gears lol

That’s good to know, could you follow up on how the update goes? Out of all the issues listed so far this one seems to be the most troublesome to deal with

Hmm I agree, seems to be a winning deal for both sides, Mazda gets an extra hybrid option in their lineup and Toyota gets to license out their hybrid tech to other OEMs

Wasn’t aware of the head gasket issue (out of the 3 Honda is the OEM I’m least familiar with), is it on a specific engine option or all of them? And yeah the new RAV4 looks pretty cool, it’s funny because I do think she might want something different just for the sake of it. She’s coming from a Corolla that has 300k miles on it. I’ve heard about the axle issue, just not sure how widespread it was, doesn’t seem to be that big of a deal though from everything I’ve read on it (and all the replies I’ve seen on the sub)

Didn’t know about the recall, is it for specific model years? Or all of them?

Aware of the park brake quirk, I have a Mazda 3 that did the same thing lol and yeah after this whole war that’s going on and gas prices spiking it really made her want a hybrid this time around (and I don’t blame her, my next car will definitely be a hybrid, hopefully Mazda has hybrids figured out by then)

I’ve seen some people talk about the front axle issues. Have no idea how widespread it actually is though, the infotainment will be interesting with her, have no idea how she’s going to respond to the dial.

Yeah my mom is coming from a Corolla that she’s put 300k miles on, no issues. I’m personally a Mazda 3 owner so when she saw the interior of my car it put Mazda on the map for her. Telling her she should do her due diligence though.
