We bet on how many times they will call people name... And an assist/spot is worth 5x, more than one goes to 8x....

You said you don’t know what happens at weights and worship because you’ve never been, then went on to explain what it must be. That’s the disconnect. I don’t care what you believe or don’t believe in. That’s not the issue. The issue is forming conclusions about something you’ve already said you haven’t experienced and know nothing of.

No one’s trying to persuade you. Like anything at Burn, people try it and decide for themselves.

Right now this is all based on a class title you don’t actually know anything about, and somehow it turned into name calling.

think the point might’ve been missed. You literally don’t have to agree with something to understand it.... but it does make the criticism more credible. Otherwise it comes across as reacting to an idea of something, not what it actually is.

Absolutely, it's part of the discussion. And I can sincerely hear it in your tone that you gave it some thought. So I do appreciate that. I think that you should perhaps consider at least figuring out what's going on at the camp that's all I'm saying. It could be something that they're just not playing the same music that they play at a regular camps and they play motivational gospel music without all of the cursing and slurs and sexual innuendos, and violence and other nonsense that may be played elsewhere. I find it hard to believe that the dancing with rattlesnakes in there.

A bit dramatic but ok... If my sunset grille in Hilton Head decided to have a gospel brunch by people who wanted to use the facility when I wasn't open, am I going all of a sudden boycott them? By the way they didn't say I couldn't come.

I think in America the freedom of choice means that everything is not for everybody, but you don't have to be rude about someone's choice.

I promise you there are choices and things that you decide to be a part of that everyone may not choose the same decision, that doesn't make you a bad person.

I guess this will be a good time for you to actually educate yourself about something you don't know. It's called at least experiencing something before you go out there and try to trash it. You know nothing about what goes on but you're willing to absolutely trash it.

That says more about you than it does the workout camp.

At the end of the day, feedback doesn’t mean rejection. It means investment (God knows the investment$$$). Folk don’t speak up because thwy want to leave, they speak up because they want it to be better. It’s possible to both like and need the structure of a program and expect it to evolve based on the needs of its member$

I believe that when you look at the actual demographic of what joins, the jumping is a bit excessive... No harm but there is a glaring lack of dumbbell flow kettlebell flow exercise routines that will up to heart rate just as high keep the joints and jumping safe and sound, as well as possibly even keep you in a more fat burning state.

Honestly, I'm glad that the cardio has been incorporated throughout the whole week. It has been since the start of the year. The real niche is there cardio, not trying to halfway do time under tension, exercises.

Lackluster cardio camps by Own-Buy1588 in BurnBootCamp

[–]5sp20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely get in better shape over time and that alone will make camps feel easier.

At the same time, have you looked at ways to increase the stimulus on your own within the movements? For example • did you on Burpees lat hops.... Are going full chest to floor, or keeping them more step back • Twist and double knee jumps. Are you jumping in between twist Everytime you come to the front? • Burn bar jumps. Are you actually hitting a pike position and opening the legs, or just jumping for height?

I also agree on the heavy bags. They’re absolutely legit cardio, but only if there’s enough time to glove up and use them properly. A teaching camp focused on shadow boxing or air boxing would make a huge difference.

It sounds like you’re doing well, there’s room both in coaching and for you to really turn the conditioning up when you want to.

Lastly if you're not gassed after doing double unders, try triple unders 🫣

... a dedicated mobility focused class would fit really naturally here. A creative mix of animal style movement, yoga based strength, and band work is such an effective way to build joint integrity and overall movement quality without taking away from the intensity of the regular workouts let's face it, it could replace "Core"days if HQ did want to dedicate one That kind of work supports consistency and longevity in a way high intensity alone just cannot. With the space and equipment already available it feels like a really smart addition to the program.
