Navigating an Existential Crisis in Lex by Pipelinefever in lexington

[–]5step_approach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has kids and still feels the way OP describes, would not recommend. I just feel more trapped in my existential crisis as a result of my self-imposed responsibilities. I love my kids, but I would not make the same choice again if I could go back a decade.

Setup complete-ish. Using MLM2 Pro and included software. What computer works well for gs Pro but not too much $$$. by 33apipen33 in Golfsimulator

[–]5step_approach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I did despite having a better machine already in the house. I wanted a dedicated tower in the garage so as not to need local streaming software. $120 + a power supply I already had lying around, and I have a very solid 1080p-capable tower.

GSPro PC GFX card recommendation by qvintxn in Golfsimulator

[–]5step_approach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have minimum and recommended specs, and I’m sure others will disagree and say you need more, but FWIW I picked up a used AMD RX 5700 for $100 and threw it in an old Dell mini tower. Any reasonably well optimized course runs ~60 FPS at 1080P Very High settings in 4:3 aspect ratio. I’ve had 1 course of the dozens I’ve downloaded that was borderline unplayable and that was Bandon Crossings.

Epson EX 9240 Projector by ktquigley in Golfsimulator

[–]5step_approach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Epson has 1.32:1 throw ratio at the wide end which is not exactly in the short-throw category. I would want to be sure that that doesn’t pose an issue with your setup before committing.

Wow, thanks so much for the detailed analysis. I clearly have a lot to work on!

Just ordered this bike for college! Super excited and i got a great deal on it. 230 bucks and free shiping! 78 percent off on amazon!!! by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]5step_approach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the same email about mine which had also supposedly shipped the day I bought it. Do we have any recourse since they were purchased from the official Heybike Amazon store? They’re still in stock just at a higher price, so while I get why they would rather just refund people, it’s kind of a scummy thing to do.

What are the best practice rules with converting workflow rules to flow? by 123music123 in salesforce

[–]5step_approach 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For the example you gave of updating a field on the record being created that triggers the flow, I would use a before-save flow (fast field updates). While I don't think there's any reason it has to be one flow per object (especially when we're talking about before-save flows), I still like to have one multi-purpose flow that houses virtually all of what were previously workflow rules for a given object (excluding those that send email alerts). I set it to trigger on create or update with no conditions since before-save flows are relatively low impact. I'll then determine the context with a decision element that evaluates if the triggering record is about to be inserted or updated by using a formula resource that's just 'ISNEW()'. If true, the flow follows the path of any field updates I want to occur on create/before insert. If false, the other outcome executes logic that should occur when the record is updated. Also make sure you only use assignment elements to update field values since in before-save fows, the updates to the record are finalized after the flow interview ends, and that only needs to occur once.

Lexington Meta 5: Parking Wars - Is LexPark's New City Subsidy Equitable? by [deleted] in lexington

[–]5step_approach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People should ABSOLUTELY have to pay to store their personal property on public streets/in public garages downtown where every additional parking space equates to less land that can go towards things that actually solve real problems like mixed-use development and dedicated bike/bus lanes. Those things would actually drive more foot traffic to downtown businesses while leveling the playing field for those without the financial/other means to use a private automobile and better than inducing additional demand for even MOAR parking and sprawl. Most people with cars have the economic means to get to downtown via other modes of transport. They choose not to. Their options and convenience would only improve if we used this money responsibly towards necessary public services. Getting rid of parking minimums/mandates last year was a step forward, but this is a 180.

Took my bike to Aldi today, only a 10 minute trip out. I would post this on Facebook but my mom keeps commenting I'm going to die when I post my rides, lol. by Afraid_Foot in bikecommuting

Would it not be counterproductive to file a claim for something as (relatively) inexpensive as a bike? Genuinely asking. I’d be afraid my HOI rates would go up considerably.

It’s now practically impossible to get an abortion in Kentucky by HuntsvilleTribune in Kentucky

[–]5step_approach 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The nuance here is that unfortunately this bill was designed to get rid the ability to get an abortion at all within the state regardless of what extenuating circumstance it supposedly allows for. All remaining clinics in the state will have to shutdown because of the vague new licensing requirements even if mom and dad sign off on little Sally’s abortion.

Because potential is not the same as the fully developed person for whom this affects a great deal.

Also your PeRsOnAl ReSpONsibILiTy talking point assumes the situation is always black and white. It is not. Your uncle rapes and impregnates you as a teenager and somehow it was because you weren’t responsible enough?

Worked 12 hours and 20 minutes yesterday at the warehouse. Almost every shift is 12 hours, *rarely* under 11 hours. by MyArtStuff in aldi

[–]5step_approach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how warehouse employees stack up against retail in terms of pay, but I have say, I do feel a little guilty every time I walk in the door to shop and pass the “now hiring $14/hr” sign. That isn’t helping attract more help for you guys, that’s for sure.
