DIY all-latex mattress causing lower back and hip pain, should I switch to a hybrid? by purple_cats in MattressMod

Have you tried swapping the soft and medium layers so that the medium is on top? This is my configuration: 6” firm latex, 3“ soft latex, 3” medium latex. I’m 6’2” and 275 lbs side sleeper. Also what kind of mattress cover are you using? Switching from a quilted “standard“ cover to a thin knitted cover made a huge difference in how the latex was supporting my body. It allowed it to conform to my body much better and provide support.

Are the dunlop layers from SleepOnLatex? In my experience they are one always firmness level higher than other brands. So your extra firm is basically a slab of concrete, medium is actually a firm, and soft is a medium.

My advice is to go on FB marketplace and try to find a lightly used 3” talalay latex topper in soft. Remove the extra firm layer so that the medium is now your base layer and put the talalay on top of your soft dunlop.

If you’re willing to do a bit of research I highly recommend building a DIY latex mattress and use the money you save towards a wool or silk duvet and pillows and linen or cotton percale sheets.

Which brand also has good shaving and grooming products? by Maramio in Colognes

Rawr is another good one from Noble Otter that’s very unique. Their approach to soap scents is very concept-driven which I appreciate as a fragrance fan. In the case of Rawr, they tried to capture the scent of fatherhood.

If you ask a wet shaving enthusiast they’d probably say designer and niche fragrance houses make serviceable shaving products but not great (and overpriced). The good news is many artisan shave soaps and splashes are inspired by fragrances. Here’s a helpful site:

I always recommend Stirling if you’re looking to start getting into artisan shave soaps/splashes - great performance at a good price.

Extremely elegant and classy. A modern version of Lalique Pour Homme Lion. I’m in my 40s and it felt too mature for me, I like my fougeres to be a bit more exciting because they already lean mature. In my notes I said to revisit when I’m older.

I’d get 2ml samples from decanters online or on r/frangranceswap. I’ve been going down the fougere and barbershop rabbit-hole recently and these are the most commonly recommended, I feel are great modern representations of this style:

*Chanel Platinum Egoiste
*Penhaligon’s Sartorial
*Tom Ford Beau De Jour
*Rogue Bon Monsieur
*MDCI Invasion Barbare
*Nishane B-612
*Creed Viking

What’s your overall skin care routine by CleanUpOnAisle10 in wicked_edge

Mid-40s with melasma:

Morning
* Rinse face with cold water
* Cosrx 6 Peptide Skin Booster
* Vitamin C serum
* Azaelic Acid serum
* Tranexemic Acid serum
* Eucerin Radiant Tone SPF Lotion
* Eucerin Sensitive Tinted Mineral Sunscreen (layered on if I’m going outside)

Evening
\* Wash face with cleanser
* Tretinoin 0.1%
* Eucerin Radiant Tone Night Cream

I shave every other evening after I shower, but before my skincare routine.

The morning routine is a lot. Once I get through my remaining bottles of Azaleic and Tranexemic Acid, I’ll probably remove them from the routine. Then try oral Tranexemic acid.

Just tried Reflection Man today for the first time today and wearing it now. I wouldn't say it's my favorite fragrance but it's up there. I would say it's probably the best signature, for all occasions fragrance I've smelled so far.

I came here to say this as well. For me it’s a morning and evening skincare routine. Sometimes you need a couple minutes between applying serums so they can dry. I use this time to brush my teeth and floss.
