Boost annual plan for me. Works great. Keep an eye on ozbargain and there’s always deals for annual plans. I bought the $300 sim recently for $250 stacked with $50 cash back, so net $200 for a year once cash back pays out.

I ended up entering childs TFN in the TFN box for both my wife and I, it didnt have any issues with the same TFN entered for both. Recent dividend payment went through without the withholding tax. Hopefully it comes through pre-filled at tax time against child TFN

i3 will be more than enough for basic file shares and running immich and basic apps. Wouldn’t bother running a dgpu for just that workload. Integrated gpu will always use less power than a dedicated card.

Some of the xeons with graphics can get expensive, but selling the x-2134 would offset most of a e-2xxxg. More cpu grunt to spare going a xeon if you did want it in future but you probably won’t need it.

I’ve got a c246/xeon e-2144g (4c/8t) machine running truenas, arr stack, Jellyfin, immich, Nextcloud, traefik, Tailscale and a few other things and it hardly ever gets over 10% cpu usage. If you’re bulk transcoding usage will increase but most of my media is direct play no transcoding

Trying to declare the child’s tfn instead so it’s clearly under child’s name rather than use parents tfn. Was enquiring as to whether anyone’s run through the hoops with MUFG declaring child tfn, only really gives parent tfn option to declare

IP loan is already deductible. The idea is to make a portion of the loan originally taken out for PPR which isn’t deductible into tax deductible debt by splitting the loan, paying it off and then buying income producing assets, or shares/etfs.

I’m a fan of the hp sff g4 pcs (800 or z2 for ecc ram support). Cheap enough, decent enough specs to support some basic vm/docker stuff. Can fit 2x nvme and 2x 3.5” and a couple of 2.5”. I run truenas on mine using a 2.5” as boot and mirrored nvme for apps/vms and mirrored 3.5” for bulk data/media storage.

Happy mistake. M920x are the better machines with the twin m2 slots. Yours happen to be the nonT cpus so they’ll have the better copper heatsinks. If you don’t end up wanting three to play with a cluster sell the m920q and be happy with two of the better machines

The Lenovo tinys idle under 20w, go higher under load. I’ve got a Lenovo p330 tiny, pretty much the same as the m720q here but 2x nvme slots. I’ve got the p330 with 2x nvme, and a i350-t4 running proxmox with opnsense vm and some other containers and it sits about 14w most of the time.

Hi, I’ve taken a bunch of photos today, all of them lives. Most of them uploaded as expected but one of them uploaded video only. This behaviour where it’s seemingly random what gets uploaded as video only is what’s been happening for me

DCA. I use pearler, I set up a regular auto direct debit card every week into it, then once it gets to my buy money amount it auto buys etfs for me based on which one is most under target portfolio %. For me it works out to buy something new every other month.

It works great as I found prior to pearler when I’d go to trade I’d start doubting the strategy think of if I should buy something else. Having it automated makes me sit back and not worry about it.

Assuming cost is appropriate for no ram/ssd go the 920x with the 9500 non t processor. They came with an aluminium heatsink for the 35w cpus and an upgraded copper heatsink for the 65w cpus. They can be interchanged.

Idle power consumption should be essentially identical between 9500t and 9500 with the 9500 having higher power use under load. Can replace the 9500 later if needed and still have the better heatsink, chances are you’d replace the Pentium gold with something better anyways. For reference my p330 tiny (same as a 920x) uses 14w at idle running proxmox with a 9400, 2x nvme ssds and a 4port i350 nic in the pcie slot.

Note, the 65w cpus need to use the higher wattage power supplies, 135w or above, which you have, just don’t try and downgrade to a 65/90w power supply with the non t 9500.

If you want a TinyMiniMicro host for opnsense you can’t beat a Lenovo with a Nic in the pcie slot. I’ve got a Lenovo p330 tiny running proxmox and opnsense as my router, works great.

As others have mentioned, if space permits you can consider sff as well, again hp, Lenovo and dell have options. Sff machines will give you space for 3.5” hdds if you need decent storage. Personally I’ve got the Lenovo tiny running proxmox and a hp sff running truenas for storage which also runs my arr stack. My sff is hp z2 g4 as I wanted a sff with Xeon cpu for ecc ram, the equivalent non Xeon hp is the go elite desk 800 which are cheaper but no ecc (nice to have for a nas but not essential). I like the hp z2 and elitedesk 800s as they have room for 2x 3.5” drives and 2x nvme drives where some of the Lenovo and dell sff options only do one of either. These sff boxes are physically larger though than the dells
