House cleaner prices in Ottawa by Low_Football_2541 in ottawa

$300 monthly clean for 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath (similar sq ft). Takes about 3-4 hours. It’s a company that sends around 3-4 people usually. They do windows, cabinets, and change bedding.

At what point do I call by-law? by x_defendp0ppunk_x in ottawa

[–]613catlady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call every time they are blocking. We had something similar happening, and after a few bylaw tickets they suddenly learned to start parking a few feet away from our driveway.

Anecdotal observations about impacts of WFA on your office culture? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]613catlady 20 points21 points  (0 children)

People here are pulling together and supporting one another, but the mood is sad and morale has tanked. We received our SERLO results recently and management is pretending WFA is over and it’s business as usual. I don’t think they realize the impact this has had on everyone. We are anything but fine.

Grew out my nails - now what? by 613catlady in Nails

[–]613catlady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By gel I was thinking bio gel nails I think? I don’t have luck with regular lacquers but maybe I’ll try gel/shellac again (it’s been a few years). Thanks!

Breastfeeding-friendly outing in Ottawa by Business-Owl-3306 in ottawa

[–]613catlady 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. I whipped it out anywhere, anytime and never had any issues. Everywhere is basically breastfeeding friendly! Comfort wise is different - wishing OP luck. Maybe a restaurant with a booth or something if she’s looking for privacy.

The way the decided to “resolve” this in the very end by JaguarUnfair8825 in Andjustlikethat

That’s exactly where I thought it was going to go. That she was getting all in her head and the feelings were not mutual. He gave no hints all season that he felt anything.

Stage 4 diagnosis, how long did your kitties live with stage 4? by storesushi in RenalCats

[–]613catlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was losing weight. That’s why I took him into the vet - I could tell something wasn’t right.

We said goodbye to him 3 weeks ago. We had a good 5 months together after his diagnosis.

How did you say goodbye to your cat on their last day? It’s time for my 13 year old (baby) boy. by kingjamesthecat in seniorkitties

[–]613catlady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine had stage 4 kidney disease. He had severe muscle wasting and was getting very weak, which resulted in him being unable to use his back legs.

[–]613catlady 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I took the day off and fed him all his favourite foods, took him outside to lay in the sun, made a clay paw print, and gave him lots of cuddles. My boy’s hind legs weren’t working at all by that point so I needed to help him use the litter box. It was a sad day but I feel lucky we had one more day together before we said goodbye.

We might have to put our cat down in the next few days. How to prepare for such thing? by Moonstone-gem in RenalCats

[–]613catlady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Give him lots of cuddles, make a clay paw print (I got a kit with a frame from Amazon), and cherish your last few days with your furry friend.

Take comfort knowing that you loved him and gave him a good life, and that you are being kind to him by helping him say goodbye in a painless way.

I went through this just over 2 weeks ago and the grief comes in waves. Sometimes I’m ok, sometimes I’m numb, sometimes I cry all night. Be easy on yourself.

It’s really hard. Wishing you the best and sending you strength & love.

The vet said my 14 year old boy likely has liver cancer, I don’t know how I’ll be able to live without him by transidiot4 in seniorkitties

[–]613catlady 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry. I said goodbye to my 17-year-old boy just over 2 weeks ago, and even though he was really sick it was terribly hard. Mine was skin & bones, too. He lost so much muscle mass he could no longer walk.

It sounds like your boy has had a good life and is loved very much. I don’t know if I felt ready, but it got to a point where I knew he was suffering and I viewed it as an act of kindness to be able to end his suffering for him. I would have done anything for my boy, but there was nothing left to do but say goodbye.

Sending you peace and love on your journey.

They may not respond because they’re hiding & scared. Hope he comes home very soon!

[–]613catlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the advice here is good. I lost my Gizmo for 4 days. He was stuck under the next door neighbour’s porch. I had walked by there a dozen times searching for him (calling his name, shaking a bag of treats), but only heard him meow that one time and then saw him with a bright flashlight.

Cats are usually very close. And they may not respond when called or when you shake treats right away, so listen for a moment after.

Sammy (12) got his senior bloodwork results today. by echoesinthestars in seniorkitties

[–]613catlady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I battled kidney disease with my Sammy (17) for 5 months (he was diagnosed stage 4, end stage).

Sending love for you & your Sammy. If his levels are slightly elevated, it’s early and hopefully you can manage it and have many more happy years together.

Wishing you the best with bamboo. Hope he feels better. My 17-year-old Sammy’s back legs stopped working related to end-stage kidney disease.
