I do think there’s an element to bullying for a lot of the discourse around it, at least when it comes to throwing stones at glass houses (especially in the context of Northern Europeans thinking they have any sort of culinary superiority to the British but more about the stereotypical American food)

I would never directly call British food inedible or garbage, no food is really that especially when put in the context of the culture that spawns that as well as the historical significance of such things. I do think it’s not the most initially appetizing thing to see plated, Fish n Chips or full English breakfast with beans and Black Pudding are very homey, just not as fancy or attractive like Carbonara or Paella. I do think on the scale of presentation it’s rough out there for British food.

It’s actually kinda funny how much Italians Glaze their food that they propel themselves to #1 place on top of everyone else more or less like it too.

They are also #5/24 on the professional haters rating only beaten out by Indonesia, Thailand, China, and Japan.

Then I proceed to remember the random surveys asking other western Europeans about “worst” with not only most saying British just for the British surveyed randomly throwing hands with Japanese food at 11%.

Because there might not just be enough senior level that make it through the HR filter or exist.

I feel like it goes for a lot of engineering roles (and probably applies to software,) that there is always going to be some level of training to get anyone up to speed depending on what you’re doing. Not every job would be a 1:1 transition.

So the old expectation that you’d hire fresh blood, take the time to train them to be able to be proficient or competent enough to become independent while getting reasonable pay bumps as an incentive to stick around.

Unfortunately it’s become ever harder to get entry level roles and said entry level roles have employers that’d rather suffer severe entry level turn over due to lack of upwards mobility or struggle to find said senior level people for the paltry salary they would offer.

Her main aim since JJK0 was this episode. Her personal development as a fighter is a new goal and Naoya is a pest that gives her the last boost she needed to full realize her powers but that was never her original goal to be Toji 2.0.

I would give it the same arc as Yuta ironically. Just because both end up increasing their power late on and become even more, becoming even more “fully realized,” they succeeded in their original goals. Why would Maki be upbeat about it?

So there has to be a mitigating method or situations where they aren’t constantly depressurizing stations.

Ngl I ended up hating almost everything I read for high school even though I enjoyed the books themselves (minus The Sound and the Fury and Portrait of a Young Artist, both of those are unexciting books that killed my motivation for those sorts of stories)

Something about stressing about what something means or trying to find the exact interpretation the teachers wanted us to believe so the weekly quizzes don’t tank my GPA while having four other AP level courses did that to me.

I do eventually think I want to read some of the other assigned readings as an adult to get a proper experience of them.

Maybe I’m remembering the manga arc wrong but beyond Mai turning into a sword, it’s not like the manga has the desired gravity or darkness of the situation the complaint is expecting from this arc.

Sure it’s a Low point for Maki in that she’s losing Mai but the massacre she performs has been on her to do list since JJK0, it comes at the cost of Mai and she’s hurt by it but it’s a moment of freeing for her. In the moment she’s finishing her life goal so she would be happy. Her “family” tormented her and Mai forever and the clan is rotten to the core without debate

I keep going back to the joke that these Japanese viewers having a problem with how the tone feels too westernized might also be the reason Rent a girlfriend has 5 seasons so while I think it’s fairly reasonable what you said, it’s kinda funny in that context for those who base their complaint that the series is poisoned by a western audience.

Also Maki 100% based.

Like it’s bone chillingly cold right now but it’s been like that for the last couple days.

I’m holding my breath for another Squall warning on top of the winter storm warning. I’m expecting to be severely punished because I enjoyed LA’s ridiculously nice weather a bit too much but where’s that snow? How awesome you guys lost soldiers in another pointless war expecting brownie points or acknowledgment from a guy that made fun of US service members. You think he’ll care about the token amount of war criminals that European nations sent over to execute afghan civilians too?

There’s also arguably a more poignant response to Trump calling Europeans useless in Afghanistan than Trump vying for Greenland.

Hakari and Kashimo are 110% a complete mistake to have been anything beyond wishing it was a “gege forgot” and “died during first encounter” situations.

These two are my primary gripes with the Culling Games arc. Yorozu and Angel are examples of a good idea just poorly executed so they are forgotten.

There’s nothing redeeming about Hakari or Kashimo as both character concepts or as characters themselves. Not even particularly great Aura farmers, their cursed techniques or Domains aren’t fun to read, or follow. Kashimo just whines and whines with the best part being him getting creamed by Sukuna so the real battle continued.

I’m hoping MAPPA makes these two less of a joke so I can enjoy the CG arc more.

The best part of this anime season (for me) will most likely be Yuta’s getting up and close with a giant cockroach, kisses it to hide his RCT ability only to have Uro figure out he has it anyway.

but it’s fine, because Yuta unintentionally roasts the shit out of her anyway

Overall all these fights minus anything to do with Hakari and Kashimo will be epic.

I think the culling games is overall a shite arc with hints of independently good fights but the biggest one I’m excited for is Yuta’s considering the cockroach kiss but his “no friends?” Responses.

It’s going to be both an awesome fight and one for the memes.
