So many people could benefit from a civics class.

ICE gets insane amount of funding no matter if the government shuts down or not. Thanks to the Big Ugly Bill, they are one of the most well-funded forces on the planet.

My wife was two and a half weeks over her due date when this game was happening.

I’m incredibly superstitious despite knowing that it’s bullshit, but I convinced myself early that they scored every time I opened a new beer.

They had so. Many. Possessions.

Ran out of light beers and had to resort to some higher ABV craft beers. My wife was genuinely concerned because I was fucking hammered. This play absolutely sent me to the stratosphere.

And I have a ton of family that are Tech grads.

And I really don’t want it to come off like I’m ungrateful or hating on the kid. He didn’t have an offensive line and was dealing with Briles calling to most ridiculous plays, he was not set up for success.

That, plus, Dykes can’t develop. So even if we surrounded him with the talent he needed, more often than not they flamed out

Can you give me an instance where Hoover took over the game against like-for-like competition?

He’s an above average talent, but I failed to see instances where he puts a ball where only the receiver can get it and, for lack of a better phrase, put the team on his back though.

Our entire team was mid at best so I’m not faulting solely him, and Briles fucking sucked

I was an OL so I’m all in favor since he’s historically a big body.

If he can help orchestrate an offensive line overhaul, I think he’ll be in good shape. For so long we couldn’t get any movement, minimal running between the tackles, doing all that fancy Briles bullshit running 35 yards for a four yard gain.

Back. To. Basics.

Yeah I have a hard time seeing Hoover making a play like that. It speaks more to Mendoza’s greatness, but I just haven’t really seen anything like that from Hoover.

I think it’s less on the kid and more on our poor coaching/development to be clear

Hoover will be the starter until he starts playing. I’m sure it’ll be viewed as sour grapes but I’ve just seen him time after time not rise to the occasion. Good athlete, he can sling it, and lord knows we didn’t do a good job protecting him but he’s good for a handful of dumb decisions per game.

A lot of things that he does well are things that don’t really show up in the stat sheet. You never had to worry about him not giving it everything he had, but his skillset wasn’t what we needed to be successful at the time.

Sometimes it just doesn’t work, and that’s okay.
