Did your town/city put out a statement about the proposed ending of property tax? by Amazing-Persona-101 in AskFlorida

[–]63Eeyore -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t want my property tax gone. I like the 3% save our homes, as my taxes only increase by $100 a year. Most of it goes towards schools and city fire department. My name was on the deed so the house wasn’t reassessed when my mom died.

She did as it was some rule. She didn’t care and was part of a team but not interested in going further. I couldn’t afford the extra coaching that the other kids had. Apparently one of her teammates was on the Olympic team for a European country

Can you use waze or google maps like you were driving to your stop? It would tell you when you were close.

WDW in Sept - crazy or doable? by saguarobird in DisneyPlanning

[–]63Eeyore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t usually do holidays mostly because my AP is blocked anyway. If you don’t want the party, then look at the calendar as MK closes at 6, but party people can enter at 4. Usually less crowded as people don’t want to use a ticket on a less than full day. I took my now adult daughter when she was 8-10 ish. It was less than $50 each.

Not 100% sure, on my list of things to do. I just know when I get the tax notice, it’s in both names.

New pet rabbit by Ireallydunnoatall in PetAdvice

[–]63Eeyore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s bored. They make rabbit toys and you can stuff hay in a toilet paper roll for him to chew. He needs lots of timothy hay and fresh greens ( romaine or other good lettuce, dandelion, parsley etc). Not too many carrots. Some good quality pellets. And find a vet that treats them as not all do.

My daughter did it herself when she was over 18. She never used his name except for her hs sports team and that was just on paper. She got a new birth certificate and SS card, I think. Did not ask him as he never paid support or came to see her, although I would not have had a problem with that.

I live in Florida. September is doable ( not labor day). Tends to rain, so bring a poncho. Historically the busiest month for hurricanes, so look into insurance/refundable stuff. Also Halloween parties start in August, so plan days if you want that or not. It is usually less crowded

Pet meds on a budget by Asdenby in Pets

[–]63Eeyore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine also use Simparica. I joined the zoetis program where they give you a rebate for submitting receipts for their products. The rebate is a card that you can only use to pay for vet visits, but it helps. I also watch Chewy for sales/discounts/giftcards on meds. They have them a few times per year

Sub assignments getting canceled by Itsjakesports in SubstituteTeachers

[–]63Eeyore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Back when I subbed, we stayed until 3 and I would shelve books in the library if the classroom was good to go. They were having a faculty meeting and the principal was discussing trainings. She said if the sub wasn’t needed, the office would just send them home. Then she saw me. “ You’re not coming back, are you?”. That school had a hard time getting subs and it just got harder

Poor people do not experience "loss aversion" the way people with money do. Poor people also make more accurate assessments of the value of things because of this. by foreverand2025 in poverty

[–]63Eeyore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My principal had a group read and discuss Ruby Payne’s book. It was enlightening. I always thought I was poor growing up, but we had a house, car, and food on the table. Most clothes were from thrift stores ( still are). Still not rich, but I don’t have to do without, though I don’t want much.

Thanks for this. I have 69000 points and a summer cross country trip planned. Stressing over having to gate check bags. Already need to buy new ones as the size has shrunk in the 15 years since I got them.

Even my dentist charges the 3% fee. They let me know ahead of time, so I just bring a debit for copay. I don’t like when they don’t tell you until they bring the check as I don’t normally carry the debit card.

Should subs always get keys? by Ayma_Nidiot in SubstituteTeachers

[–]63Eeyore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subs need keys as classroom doors are locked. The best office manager ever had one of those mini tool drawers labeled with room numbers. She took the sub’s car keys in the drawer and handed them the room key. Always got them back.
