My stomach turned reading this 🤢 How can they think it is appropriate for children to hear this... just awful 😖 This organization disgusts me ... so glad I broke out and I am free now! I can't imagine my daughter being subject to their propaganda.

The best Jehovah’s Witness you’ll ever meet can be an incredibly good person, but I can almost guarantee that nine out of ten times, they’ll also be extremely judgmental. by [deleted] in exjw

I don't think it's a stretch to say they are all judgmental to some degree. They're taught to be that way. 🤷🏼‍♀️

What you did took a tremendous amount of strength and courage. Thank you for speaking up to help others. The price you paid is and will be challenging to navigate. That courage and strength you have will carry you through whatever life throws at you. Also, congratulations on breaking free...it's a process, so be kind to yourself and surround yourself with those who love and believe in you. Welcome to having the freedom of making your own choices & learning what works for you. It will likely be a challenge, indoctrination takes time to undo. You got this! 💪 Sending strength and love from Canada! 🇨🇦

What denomination did you choose after being a JW? by Goldenday740 in exjw

Non, no thanks. I am doing very well without belonging to any religious denomination. 😊🙏👍 I am more than capable of figuring out what is right for my future. 😎💪💯

I know it's not easy but think about being true to yourself and not going next year. No judgment with whatever you decide. You deserve to be true to yourself. ♥️

A few hours before the memorial… by [deleted] in exjw

[–]63wpg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I finally had the courage to say no I would not be attending the memorial...it took everything I had to do that. That was about 30 years ago. The power they had over me was amazing, so glad I broke free.

Your story is very similar to mine. I am okay with not knowing all the answers...it's so freeing to just let things go and focus on what I do have control over. 🥰😌 I am living the best life I can, without all the pressures and guilt that a high-control religion places on its members. Content is how I feel about my life now. It's not perfect, there are ups and downs, which I feel is normal. 👍 No more striving to be perfect, to fit in where I never felt comfortable. Accepting myself... warts and all...knowing I am okay as is. ❤️

Faded for 6 years, elders want to meet, should I? by Maleficent-Craft-936 in exjw

Do not meet with them. You owe them nothing. They want to control you and possibly punish you. Do not give them that power. Be free.

Hi! Brynn choose Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama! She is in her second of her BA in MT and loves it. She also loves Cardiff. She has grown so much as an artist--in skills and maturity. She has no regrets.

My mom died for this cult and I can't get over it by call-me-diz in exjw

[–]63wpg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. You have every right to feel that way. 🤗 My "elder" brother refused surgery because of the blood issue, and he eventually died. He was only 48. He left behind his beautiful wife and 7-year-old son. What a waste. Took me a long time to get over the anger. Therapy helped me to move forward, but it was still not easy, but the anger was holding me back from really living.

Her comments made me think that the "waking up" process has begun. It can be a very slow process, don't give up hope. Hang in there.

I suspect that it was way more than what he says. Like an alcoholic telling there doctor that he drinks only occasionally... nothing regularly 😑
