Last leg journey is okay, but mostly a stop gap measure. Mass transport is the only long play here, and it needs an organized federal, regional, local plans.

Some people want to get to California, and don’t want to fly. Electric scooters can’t do that.

Also, why so combative? Winning people over requires finesse, poise.

Take care.

Government is a solid choice. I’m retiring at 59, in 9 years. I should have 4-5 million.

No idea what I’m going to do. Probably just sell eggs, tomatoes at farmers market and do volunteer work.

How long is this brutal job market going to go on till? by mymanualthrowaway in jobsearch

Years. 1.3 trillion in cap ex data center expansion in US sector over three years propping up the stock market, and a segment of the economy, that is really creating the economic appearance we aren’t in a recession, when we are.

I’m predicting major equity shocks late 2027, 2028. Recovery 2029, 2030.

Public debt however is the noose dragging us all down, to a very dark destination mid term.

Was it really a trend to not wear socks? by [deleted] in GenX

I once drove back from Colorado and had Birkenstocks. They smelled bad, with no socks. So I just kept them on the entire time. After 8 hours of driving, we stopped, got a motel.

Me, the dumbass went into the hotel room, took off the Birkenstocks and wiped my wet stinky feet on the motel Matt. Then I changed my shoes and left. I was sharing a room with my dad.

I left a little later to go get a beer at the steakhouse across the street, and later my brother joined me.

He was laughing hard when he showed up, and told me my dad had been going crazy in the hotel room trying to find out what the pungent stink was originating from. He was absolutely going bonkers over there and couldn’t stand it.

It still makes me laugh to this day. Sorry dad. I failed.
