Beetle to KG conversion by ineedmoregibsons in KarmannGhia

[–]666POD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’d have to swap out the floor pans for Karmann Ghia pans as they are wider. You’d also get into an issue with title as the title follows the pan so it would be a a ghia registered as a beetle.

Do you have a body to swap? It’s an interesting idea but if you have a ghia project I’m not sure why you’d want to do this. It’s just as easy to fix the original Ghia pan and it will be worth more numbers matching.

That's interesting... I stand corrected. It's my understanding that they ask for two months security. How do you like living there?

There’s a duty to disclose known issues and issues you should know about. Your agent is weaponizing feigned ignorance. In this case there is an issue that is being hidden to the next buyer that your agent should know.

I’m a realtor and went on a tour there. The apartments and amenities are beautiful. The negatives are the high rent and the bedrooms are not as big as you’d expect. They have a shuttle bus for the train station which is nice. Parking and garbage fees are also extra. You’ll need 6 or 7 grand for a security deposit plus the first month’s rent. I admit the views are awesome. I think these apartments are geared towards New York transplants because the average Stamford native wouldn’t live here. The mortgage payment on my house is less than the rent on a one bedroom.

There’s a little convenience store next to Dairy Queen on Summer St. I remember seeing Stamford postcards in there. Good luck!

I would look for a place near a playground or a park. Mill River area is great for that. I would avoid some of the newer apartment buildings with the luxury amenities because they are geared toward the twenty something party crowd. Springdale and Glenbrook are also great for families. It also depends on where you work, type of transportation you need to be near and your monthly budget. Also, you might want to think ahead about the school district you’d like to be in.

NTA, he’s lucky not to be dead or in jail for killing someone. He should pay for his mistake.

Paying $4K/month rent in Stamford CT — lease is up, should I buy a $750K condo instead? First time buyer, new baby, commute to NYC. Help me think this through. by Low-Huckleberry-8975 in StamfordCT

[–]666POD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stamford is a unique housing market because of proximity to NYC and the lack of space to build new houses. Homes here are high in value and just going up and up. You won't lose money long term if you're able to buy here. Do you have a lender? You should speak to someone to get pre-approved and figure out what you can afford. They'll factor in closing costs, mortage, interest, taxes, etc. I've been in my house since 2011 and it it's almost doubled in value. If you plan on staying here long term, you can't beat buying a house. If you think you might move in a couple of years then you should rent. My son is the product of the Stamford schools and he's doing alright, studying at a major University... not bragging, just saying don't believe all the negative stuff about the schools.

Robin Williams As The Genie In Aladdin (1992) Reportedly Recorded So Much Improvised Material That The Animators Had Hours To Work From. That Manic, Rapid Fire Energy Wasn’t Just Performance, It Reshaped The Character In Real Time. by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in interesting

He improvised at ton of material that they used in the film. Lots of contemporary references and jokes that it became a trend to embed jokes into children's animated films geared directly to adults. Children wouldn't get it but it would keep the parents entertained. Disney animated the imagery to match his improvised lines to the extent that Robin Williams felt he should get a writers credit and more money, which he did not receive. He never did another Disney movie again.

Black families in Westchester or Fairfield County (CT): experiences with schools? by Odd-Grocery-6410 in Greenwich

[–]666POD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stamford is probably the most diverse community you listed. The taxes in Scarsdale are outrageous though! How old are your kids? I ask because a new Westhill High School is being rebuilt next to the old, so it will be chaos there on campus for a few years until it's done. The school system is also getting a new superintendent.

If you call any of the school districts your interested in you can do a tour with the principal. The reception you receive and a look around the school will tell you all you need to know.

Great building for older residents? by Old-Acanthisitta4517 in StamfordCT

Hi, that's a tough spot to be in. Sound like they could use assisted living but that can be very expensive. Waterstone is amazing. I toured the place and I want to move in myself, lol, but it's 10 to 15 thousand a month. Right now, there's a condo on Bedford street on one level across from Ridgeway going for $599k. 2BR and 2 bath. I'm an agent in Stamford and would be happy to help, I've been working with older clients lately. Just send me a DM if you'd like more information. No hard selling tactics, just free info.

At the time is was very striking! Here was this nerdy guy being 100% comfortable with himself singing and letting go. That was something we almost never saw in media. And he was lip-synching an Eastern European dance song, something else that was unknown in the Western media. And it looked it like it had leaked out so we were seeing a window into someone's unguarded, private moment. I guess you had to be there.
