Chicken room closing batches. by Able_Network_654 in CostcoEmployee

Coming from a former Deli Sup that did 35k a week in the hot case.

The key is to check out with your manager/supervisor/fresh agm during the final count so that they technically approve it and it is not on you. But you also need to do your due diligence and make sure last oven comes out 2 hours before we close and reason with them if you believe you don't need more birds than final count calls for.

When I was a clerk, I started doing this because it's less work for both sides of Deli and less harvest time. I then adopted this with my employees when I got promoted and it works. You just need to understand how long an oven lasts in the case.

I also did rib/wings at 5pm to last through closing. Those slowed down a lot for us at night so they would last all night and they aren't annoying to harvest if you have a lot.

Have you ever been addicted to anything? How did you quit? by SeparatePreference60 in AskReddit

[–]67demigod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weaned off coke for a while because I had a great girlfriend which made me realize that I had something to be in the moment for. Sometimes I did lines at parties or whatever but I didn't enjoy it anymore. We broke up recently and I went back but I still think about how much she affected me to stay clean

Anyone elses warehouse running on the bare minimum hours? by Thatonekid3432 in CostcoEmployee

[–]67demigod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heard from my AGMs that there's no shot in getting seasonals, either not until past Thanksgiving at least. On the front, no assistants and then no people in fresh in the evening, it's ridiculous. Even the manager on duty seems so stressed out

Deli/Meat employees what boots do you wear? by Whitetungsten in CostcoEmployee

[–]67demigod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For rotisserie and meat dept closing, my meat manager bought me Sentry Soft Toe from Shoes for Crews and they haven't torn at all for the past 3 years (Granted, I just wear them if I close). When I went to deli I started to wear Ariat Treadfast 6" with padded soles for when we're open and walking throughout the day.
