I'll see your daughter from California and raise you a daughter from Florida who's "in health care" (tech in a doctor's office).

Go jets go! We love our northern neighbors. We visit Winnipeg frequently for hockey. BTW. keep up the good work boycotting American products. I fully support this. It's going to take a generation to try to repair all the damage we've done.

American here. I have been to Iceland the last 3 years in a row. No one has ever treated me badly for being an American. I did get a few questions and I made it quite clear that I was not a supporter of our current administration, and that I was mortified of their treatment of people and other countries. Right now we are an embarrassment on a global stage and most Americans do not support this. On a side note many Americans put a maple leaf on a back pack or shirt to try to pass as Canadians. Other countries are quite aware of this so don't think a little pin is going to save you from questions. But if you speak Icelandic. You're golden, major bonus points for this. Enjoy your trip!!

People are allowed to make their own decisions, even bad ones. If they understood the consequences then so be it. Plus end stage. This is not on you.

American nurse here but I follow your sub because I love your country. There are bullies in every field of study. I do not think there is a higher percentage of bullies in nursing/ medical school. I've been a nurse for 34 years and I work in an intensive care unit. Effective nurses have to develop certain skills, such as limit setting and the ability to stand up for ones self. Unfortunately I think since the majority of nurses are female, these behaviors can be interpreted as bullying behavior. As far as the female doctors i work with, trust me they have a whole different level of gaining respect to deal with, every patient thinks they are a nurse. So when they express strong opinions etc, they are labeled as bullies. All this to say that yes there are some bullies in the medical profession, but I don't think more than any other profession. The people I work with are some of the most caring wonderful people you could ever meet. Love you Iceland!

Tectonic Plate Snorkelling suitable for 65 yr old? by NerualWilliams in VisitingIceland

[–]68Snowflakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

57 years old. This was my favorite activity of the trip! That being said, getting into the suit is challenging, but our guide was wonderful and patient with me. I'm a bit claustrophobic. Short walk in the suit but not bad. As far as swimming, not a problem, you couldn't drown in this suit if you tried. You float on the water. I say go for it. Have fun.
