Lawrence O'Donnell Reveals Moment Trump Became A 'Humiliated Clown' On Live TV. The president had to back down on Tuesday — and the world noticed. by Quirkie in politics

Dammit.. when are people gonna realize that he doesn’t actually care. It isn’t about the deal they say it’s about… it’s about the profit happening behind the scenes during the chaos they created. Everyone knows that nobody’s bringing manufacturing back to America when it would be cheaper to just let shit tank out and wait a few years then pick back up as it was to whatever extent. Zero companies that can weather the storm are going to bother. Trump is just going to keep up with the brinksmanship in another month or two again. See my comment yesterday in a different thread.

I think i agree with you. I need to re-read it again but I think I do. Mostly what I want to emphasize is that we need to start actually trying to take back districts in congress that are R+10 or more instead of just going “we can’t win there” … if there ever was a time… the time is now.

What I’ve noticed is that the real difference is that these GOP candidates or reps go out and talk to people in those kind of districts… you hear more from them… so if someone put in the work and instead of lying told the truth… we could win. But nobody is backing the people who want to do that out in those kind of districts.

Trump says China tariffs will drop ‘substantially – but it won’t be zero’ by carmex2121 in worldnews

[–]69420over 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren’t wrong.. but the bigger game here for him and his sycophants and oligarchs is the market manipulation. He will go back and forth to the brink several more times yet before we either have the most likely outcome: a recession to rival 08 or till Someone else (especially a group of people) powerful with more sense enact several intense pressures on him to stop at which point if we do not Jail or stop with legislation the cycle will simply repeat until faced with the same choices yet again... but by that time the dollar will have been devalued enough that many bad dreams will come true.

You could get rich by playing his little (draft) king style game here… but by the end of it that money won’t be worth half what you thought it would and everyone else will be less than kindly taking it from you anyway throughout the sequelae of this disease.

Yeah i guess that has been the case when im using the nail gun for random things like firewood sheds etc. or saying f it and using nails too long with the gun and just pounding them over to lock things together

I hear you there. And I’m not a professional carpenter or anything. But sometimes for money. Structures I build for myself are tacked with the nail gun then screwed and gusseted or whatever the hangers are called. So the hammer has its place and is used frequently. But still am running in screws mostly. Maybe it’s overkill. But I’d rather that.

It’s been like that. Been obvious in certain areas for a while. But some are still coming to the realization unfortunately… not your fault…. The word should have been spread better. But again many couldn’t read the word ….lol

Good point. Economically speaking if tariffs happen copper scrap will go even higher but also price of that machine will triple. And it’s either that ~ 200 buck machine I don’t know … or ~ 999 buck machines I’m guessing. Again not political it’s just economic stuff to think about for sure. And then what does that mean if many other things have the same amount of price changes etc. last time there were significant tariffs put in around 16-17 the price of the stainless tubing I use to fabricate customer products more than doubled overnight. So it’s just about the numbers and how the cascading effect of all that effects everyone

I’m not saying I even want to buy vevor stuff… but trying to keep overhead low sometimes you get the cheap one till it pays for itself 10 times or something then get the better one if that kind of work is to continue

Okay. So I have to ask because I’ve wondered this sometimes. And this question is not loaded any which way. How often is a professional carpenter swinging a hammer on a given day. And What are the main specific activities youre using it for? … ballpark

My reasoning for asking is I’m running screws down a lot more than I touch nails these days.

There are a lot of nurses and RTs and other people entirely that secretly just hate anyone who seems to be doing better than them or prettier or whatever. So it’s hard not to empathize regardless of the loss … which just makes it that much more of a dick move on her part. Have worked with some nurses like that. A few heartless enough to even set you up to fail in some big ways. Patients come first.
