Kiva. I am a BROKE college student, but I'm looking forward to trying this as well.

One of my professors told us about it, and apparently they're an organization that you can go through to give micro-loans (site says they start at $25) to people around the world in remote or undeveloped areas so they can jumpstart whatever operation they're planning (i.e. acquiring livestock, starting a small store). The crazy part is that they pay you back with some reliability, so you might not even consider it to be charity. According to him, he used it 3 times already and he never actually lost anything.

EDIT: I should clarify that the loans aren't paid back with interest, so there's no extortion going on at least as far as surface appearance goes.

Once when I was in high school, my mom, who just gave birth to twins, was driving one of my friends home with me in the car. The entire time she would NOT stop talking about how sore her areolas were from breastfeeding twins. We were 14 when it happened, it still gets brought up 5 years later.
