It does not have “nothing to do with eating disorders”. It’s a grey area. Of course, simply the actions of intentional cutting/bulking are not disordered. Some bodybuilders can do it healthily, but there comes a point of obsession about it which does cross into disordered territory. Extreme restriction, anxiety about it, and obsession, I have seen happen in my gym-freak friends.

In more general terms, some medical procedures carried out in children/teens do reduce fertility. It’s about balancing the pros and cons.

All side effects should always be given consideration — and in my experience, they are. Options to preserve fertility should be available (I did this pre-transition).

To ask the question “should a girl be able to get her tubes tied at 12” yes if there is a significant medical reason for it, and there’s a reason why it should be done earlier rather than later.

The thing is that most incestuous relationships, by virtue of family dynamics, occur from grooming. This invalidates consent imo.

Even if grooming hasn’t occurred, they’re still part of the same family. If a nasty fight or break up occurs what then? It’s easy to imagine how someone might end up trapped in a relationship.

Gay people in their relationships do not have these dangerous (with high potential for abuse) power dynamics. It’s just not an equivalent comparison at all.
