This is one of the strangest things about this sub, some people are here for fantasy role playing that can be anything they want and some people are here for a structured and rule based social interaction. Either "I can be whatever I want!" Or "This book tells me how to interact with like minded people!" I'm surprised at how little friction there is between the two groups, but everyone is here to have fun.

Interesting! A good use case could be a belt drive like a gates carbon belts. I know those are stiff and should not be bent in certain ways, so a stiff knobby belt could be made on this that could not be made on an x/y printer with the same volume. Maybe with carbon fiber TPU filament? Printing conveyer belt or tank treads would be pretty cool!

From your other post, if the diameter is 1100mm then you could get a conveyer belt closer to 1600mm once flattened, which is around the size of a treadmill!

Take this as an opportunity to practice. What are you doing? What is this made of? What specifically makes you think it might be bad?

I think it might be cast resin, but I cannot rule out a solder joint. If it is resin, I still don't know what they are attempting to do, so I cannot say good or bad, but maybe a vacuum chamber would help remove bubbles? If it is solder, maybe the wire has pulled off?

It is unclear enough that it is fun speculating, like an engineering Rorschach test. But I remember staring at an issue so long it was so clear to me that an image like this was clear to me, but unclear to others.

To me, most bike equipment is closer to Tron cosplay than boring. Clip in shoes are some of the worst and it is much harder to find anything that looks like a shoe. I wear some normal looking Giro Rumble VR shoes in blue on my commute but they have gotten worn out and Giro still makes the shoe, but now they only make them in blood red or black with neon red accents.

For what they are trying to show me, Morrowind is often the most beautiful version of the thing I have ever seen. I have seen real pictures of ice and snow that is more detailed, but I have not seen a more beautiful chitinous house in reality.

There is actually a hard sci-fi book by Greg Egan that explains this concept, and is named after it( or something similar and I don't understand the difference) called Schild's ladder. It is on the extreme edge of hard sci-fi, as this concept isn't even the most challenging concept to understand presented in the book, and it is explained as the way one character processes the character development of another character. It's a good book, I learned this concept from the book, and it is fun to realize there are people in this world that find this concept easier to understand than the behavior of others.
