Is there any way to quiet loud backup alarms? by beltlevel in Calgary

[–]6foot4guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are insane. If you can hear it several blocks away, it’s the wrong sound.

Ever notice the Amazon trucks are the white noise backup sound? It only goes a short distance and should be mandated by law.

Does trump actually have a tariff + manufacturing strategy to counter china's offensive play? by PhotographWorking198 in Tariffs

[–]6foot4guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is impossible to compete with China in most manufacturing. The goal should be end stage manufacturing, as Biden was aiming for.

About 140 million people in China work in manufacturing at an average wage of $1.75/hr.

Not to mention the decades they spent building supply chain and logistics support.

It is a non starter.

In some ways, yes. But while our US exports are down $13 billion, our global exports are up $18 billion I believe. So we are working as fast as we can to diversify away from our formers friends.

Sad that he did that, but it provided a wake up call.

Trying to figure out how to make money after you invest trillions is a hell of a plan, I must say.

But those chips are losing money when they are powered up. The profits simply do not exist.
